Easy psychological trick that helps

It occurred to me that "losing" weight might not be what I want to do. Whenever I lose something, I usually want to find it again. Think about losing your keys, your vehicle in a parking lot, your wallet, your phone, etc.

Weight is different - when I "lose" it, I definitely don't want it back!

So now I think and speak about "shedding", "working off" or "getting rid" of extra pounds. I figure that this acknowledges the work I've done to get this far, and guarantees that my mind won't go looking to find what I've lost.

This works for me. Hope it helps you too.

I just posted a picture on my FB page yesterday...

I am not losing weight. I am getting rid of it. I have no intention of finding it again.

    So true :)

Something I find also helps when I'm in that I can't stop eating mood is...
I say to myself as I rummage through the cupboards...
If I was now at my goal, if I was slim and toned, would I want to ruin it by out of control eating?
My answer is always no...then I find something to do for 10 mins and the craving is gone a lot of the time.
    Hope it helps someone.
