Hey, Im 25, and have a 3 month old daughter. Before I got pregnant I was on a great start to reaching my weight loss goals. Went from 255lbs to 230lbs, and Im bac down to 233, but I really need some help staying on track! I am still breastfeeding so I know I need to keep my calories around 1700 a day. Any tips on staying on track, or how to really utilize this site would be greatly appreciated!! Thanx

Create your profile as if you were not nursing, then add breast feeding to your food log daily for the extra 500 calories. Keep a close eye on your supply, I know I have to eat far more than 1700 a day in order to maintain supply and lose weight (some days I get up to 3000 depending on my workouts!) but everyone is different. Congrats on the baby! My son will be 4 months tomorrow, I know it can be challenging. You're doing great to be here, though. My first was 9 months before I came close to caring about losing weight! Feel free to add me0

I'm a new mom too and breastfeeding as well. You have to make sure to eat enough calories to produce milk. You should have at least 300-500 more calories a day to keep your milk supply. I started tracking breastfeeding in my daily journal just to make sure I get enough calories. Working out with a new baby can be challenging. I try and breastfeed before I work out and put her in her rocker right next to me. It seems to work in giving me the time I need. With a new baby it is all about timing.0

How do you track your feedings to make sure you get enough calories? I guess what I mean is how do I know if I am getting enough to keep baby happy, but still lose? At about 6 weeks I started to count calories, and I wasn't getting enough so baby was fussy, I was losing like 5lbs a week.0

I set up my profile ignoring the nursing. I set it up to lose 1 lb a week. I never did add in the nursing calories. But that really depends how heavy you are. I was heavy enough that I was still getting about 2000 calories. I lost weight really well at that setting. Also my milk supply kept up. I made it to 1 year. That is longer than with my other two. My son quit cold turkey 2 weeks ago. I planned to wean at a year but he had other ideas. Having a hard time to get my milk to dry up. I keep getting engorged.0

How fast did you all lose while you were breastfeeding? I am thinking of adding a few more calories every day because i have gone down 6lbs in 3 days. Unless someone has any other ideas?0
