well this is just depressing.
im 5'10, 220 and a size 18/20
I dont think its my hips though. It the huge spare tire around my waist that i refer to as my "butt in the front"

I am 5'10, 171 lbs and I wear jeans in 32-33. Depends on the label.
I hope the european sizes are completly different, but when I converse the size to american size I end up in 16! :sad:

Here, I have jeans sized 32/33 in my closet (American waist circumference sizing). I wear a 10/12 and I weigh more than you. Don't be too hard on yourself! My guess is that you would SWIM in an American size 16.

I find this thread fascinates. a lot of girls, who are shorter then me, but weigh the same or more, wear a smaller size! I'm curious if this is a case of people squeezing into smaller sizes then i'm comfortable with, discrepancies is brands/ styles/countries. or If i'm just a lot hippier then i thought!

I'm 5'10 right now sitting at 161 and I am just fitting back into pants that are int he size 10/11/12 (depending on the brand/style) range. at my skinniest of 145, with about 17% body fat, i still wore size 10 (never got below size 30-32 waist).

5'7", 185 and size 14/16. 16 is what I've been wearing forever, but they're so loose and baggy. I can fit into the 14's but they're just a tad bit tight depending on the brand, but I've got a few pairs I can get away with wearing. Hoping they start getting baggy soon!!!

i am 5'11" 190lbs and i wear anywhere from a 12-16 depending on the brand/cut. but i try not to look at the size i wear what feels comfortable. i have very good baby hips, (thanks mom) plus i have already lost 210lbs and so i have a lot of extra skin so clothing sizes suck for me. i get jeans that fit in my thighs and hips but too big around my waist. or if they fit in my waist than they are way too tight in my thighs and hips.

I love this! This proves how differently we are all built. There is not cookie cutter size. We all have different body types and shapes and need to figure out what feels best.

Wow, this is interesting. I'm just over 5'10" and weigh 168 and am in a size 14. I do prefer a looser cut, but I'm pretty sure a 12 would be too tight.

I'm 5'10'' and weigh 144 as of recently. I haven't been shopping in a while but my size 8/9 pants are getting a little loose so I'd say I'm down to a 7 where I used to be! Ive got huge hips too so don't feel bad, they look great!
