How to switch up my routine?

I'm on week 3 of splitting up my workouts - so I run 30 minutes in the morning (during the week) and then evenings I do strength training and a cycle class.
Before the three weeks I just ran, did weights and a cycle class in one shot.
I have read you should switch it up every 6 weeks - but I'm not sure exactly what that entails and how exactly I should switch it up.
I am not a good swimmer so please don't offer that as a suggestion.
I'd like to stick with running and cycling and weights - so basically can I play around with length of sessions, times during the day or am I supposed to add in different types of cardio altogether?
maybe I'm over-thinking, but I'd love some input!
thanks!

You don't need to switch things at some arbitrarily set interval. What are your goals?0

I have 6 or 8 lbs left to lose but I'm not on a time schedule...I just do this to do it.
so really no set schedule eh? I mean, I know not 6 weeks to the day - but, in general.0 -
sounds like you have a great program....i would definitely add yoga or pilates0

actually on Tuesday nights I do a pi/yo class...and thursday nights i do half a class.
forgot to add that in. it's only a half hour class though - but it's tough no relaxing.0 -
i could add one on the weekends though. great suggestion.
i definitely need more stretching. j
ok, i appreciate the replies!0 -
Well it depends on your goals to a degree but the real time to change is when what you are doing stops working provided you are doing it correctly.0
