Jogging NSV!

I jogged half a mile this morning! Doesn't sound that impressive, but it really is to me. When I was younger and did all kinds of sports, I could jog FOREVER (by forever, I mean up and down my 300ft long driveway atleast 80 times. Yes, I counted the laps.) I stopped doing sports, got out of shape, and now I just can't run like I used to be able to (plus all the track, cross country, and basketball that I did for 4 years really messed up my knees and ankles), so I just do what I can. I generally prefer walking or other forms of low impact cardio, but sometimes I do jog/sprint just to get my heart pumping faster.
Anyways, I'm happy that my endurance has improved. Before, I couldn't even jog a whole lap around the track at the park, and now I can jog 2!

That's great! I am in the same boat. I just finished week 1 of Couch to 5k and starting week 2 tonight. I played soccer until I was 20, and I played basketball and ran long distance track in high school.

I am starting to believe in "muscle memory" though, as it seems like my body remember what to do even though it has been 20 years. Just like riding a bike, you don't forget how. But it will still take hard work to build up the speed and endurance.

    Thanks for sharing!

That is impressive!!! I am working my way up to that as we speak and I never really did sports, ever. I started walking and then jogging for 1 min. and then walk for 4 minutes. Now I am jogging for 2 minutes and walking 3 minuted. I just started about 2 weeks ago and I am very proud of myself (considering I weigh 350 plus pounds:embarassed: ).

I think it's impressive! I get you. I am doing C25K and jogged for 10 minutes Friday morning-granted I might not be able to do that consistently yet but it felt good. Way to Go!!!
