Resistance Training doesn't burn calories?

Just joined and I am a little confused as to how resistance training does not calculate into burned calories? I only do cardio to warm up. Am I missing something here?

Ladies, Mfp is just estimates and it isn't accurate when it comes to the exercise part. I got a heart rate monitor and for instance yesterday during my work out i burned about 600 calories doing a mixture of weights and cardio. So don't go by what MFP tells you.

Look for weight lifting or strength training under cardio for an estimation.

It's not there because the main focus of resistance training is not burning calories and there are too many variables in it.

I only do weight training and no cardio since may. I went from 135 on may to 120 without it. And I was stuck on 135 from Jan to may. I lost those remainding stubborn pounds without cardio. Strength training does burn cals even if Mfp doesn't list them!
