How to log P90x ?

Hi there,

I've just started P90X and was wondering what is the easiest way to log it? When I search P90X in the exercise tab, it doesn't appear. Should I log each and every move and how many reps I did etc?

Thanks!

I have the same query for Bodypump (Les Mills). I know it's a high calorie burner (about 500) but don't know how to log a whole exercise.

    Any ideas anyone?

Hey-guys. I'm new here also and was also wondering the same thing. I did a search in MFP-some say to use a combo of calisthenics or cardio. Some use a hrm and manually enter the calories burned. I skirted away from breaking each individual exercise out from the workouts-that would take some time to do each day. Did either of you two come up with something?

This website gives an estimate: http://p90xcalories.com/ but nothing is going to be completely accurate. I log mine using a HRM and I've found that I usually burn anywhere from 300-500 depending on the work out (I'm 5'5" 158 lbs) and I'm typically pushing myself pretty hard. Then I just created a new exercise when I logged it for the first time. Hope this helped! :drinker:

    Hey guys,

Use this website for an estimate. When you go into your exercises, you can create your own using the calorie estimates from the other website and name it for each individual workout. Then when you want to add it, it's in your own personal database for regular usage.

You may also want to check us out, we have a group for P90X as well: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/5498-p90x-the-game-changers

If you have a heart rate monitor, that can give you a good approximate number of calories burned, then you can just track that amount for each of the workouts. Keep in mind that HRM tend to overestimate calories burned for resistance training. I'd probably multiple what you get by .75.

Thanks for all the tips everyone. I've just been logging my classes under the 'create new exercise' option. Must be working as I've lost a stone so far! Wohoo!!!
