It's Mutt's Day. Mutts deserve their day in the spotlight, as much as a pure breed. If you own a mutt, or you are a mutt (reading this), then you know this day is for you.
By definition a mutt, sometimes called a "Halfbreed", is a dog that is of mixed breed. They come from two to several breeds. Purebred owners, and sometimes the public in general, view them as lesser in many ways. Mutt owners know better. They value the diversity and uniqueness of their mutts. Sure, a mutt doesn't carry the expensive price tag that a purebred with papers has on its head. To the mutt owner, however, the mutt is invaluable. In addition, mutts don't walk around needing to prove anything. You won't see them strutting around any dog shows trying to prove they are the best.
To all mutts and mutt owners, we hope you thoroughly enjoy Mutt's Day. Spend the day relaxing and doing all the things you and your dog like to do. Do so with both of your chins held high. For your mutt is worth a million bucks!

Hahaha this is awesome! Lil Bit is SUPPOSED to be a purebread poodle but me and my family have our doubts. She looks exactly like a mutt that has been adopted by my parents in their neighborhood. I love her to death and may just pick up a few extra treats for her on the way home to celebrate.

Yea my little one the pound said was half poodle/half Maltese or a MaltiPoo, you can really see the poodle in him, but he is not the smartest thing. the older one is half Beagle and half border Collie, I have had her since she was a puppy at the pound she just turned 13 in June.0 -

We love our mutt, Ranger. He is amazing. We love our purebred too, but I have to say, less health problems with a mutt!0

Tosco Loves Mutt day! He is American Bulldog/Pit Mutt!!! We ( I am adopted mother ) rescused him when he was 11 months. What a big lug he is!

Here's my baby girl...Maggie May. She's half Labrador and half Rottweiler. Sweetest thing ever

I have always had mutts... we just had to get this one put down. I found him about 11 years ago on a farm I was hunting on. He had been abandoned and was starving. Weighed 12lbs and followed me all over the place. I took him home and he turned into a 70lb mush that slept his days away on my king size bed snuggled in my pillows. Best we could tell he was part lab and part pointer, probably pittbull too... Was a great dog, especially with my kids

I am going to be going to the shelter at the end of August after vacation time is over and start looking for a dog... I want something similar in size to him, maybe a little smaller then 70lbs, some sort of lab mix again is what i am looking for. I would rather a pup that I can do all the training for but a young dog would be ok too, just has to be ok with my two crazy kids!0 -

He's a lovely proud looking dog! Mine was found starving, eating tyres, she'd been attacked by another dog and was very ill...She'd been beaten too by whoever owned her. She's a great dog! People can be a-holes...0 -

My dog, Duke Kahanamoku is not only a mutt but a rescue. I found him 8 years ago under a trailer with a busted nose, broken tail and a belly full of worms, he was the runt.
I guess I celebrated early since yesterday I took him for a 4-mile run, at 8 years old he can still keep up.
