This is hard!

I had a baby 7 weeks ago and lost more weight than I gained. I'm not necessarily looking to lose weight, but just want to tone up a bit. I don't worry so much about what the scale says as to me it's just a number. it's more about how I feel and how my clothes fit. I started today with my Jillian Michael's 30 day shred and holy cow is it hard. I couldn't even make it through the first workout. My legs got so tired and shakey so I did sit ups instead to give my legs a break so I didn't fall. lol. . Please tell me this is ok and that it will get better!! I did go back and do more lunges but just couldn't keep up with the dvd.

Of course it's hard
You are asking your body to do something it's not used to ...... cut yourself some slack, do a bit each day, and add a bit more the next time ..... you'll get there !
And btw, congrats on the new baby :drinker:0 -
I have been exercising for the last 21 months and last week tried a new workout......let me tell you it was horrible LOL. I was gasping for air!!!! And it is not because I am not heathly....it is just something new that my body is not used to do.
It will get better and believe me you are not the only one uable to complete 30DS the first time LOL0 -
Sure it is hard but you can do it! You had a baby...that is hard....but you did it.
Just keep at it!0 -
I think 30 DS is hard and I exercise quite a bit. You just had a baby! Your body will still tighten up on its own - good for you for getting back into exercising but don't be too hard on yourself.0

When I started working out a couple of years ago, I started with 30DS. I also quit 30DS twice, (maybe 3 times?) because I thought it was too hard. I was certain she was trying to kill me and I felt like a failure. I wasted months because I gave up. You did the right thing figuring out a way to get through it for now, but I encourage you to keep pushing. It is HARD, all of this, but I promise it gets easier. I did finally finish it and all of her other dvds, P90X, Insanity, a 5k, a 10k, 2 half marathons, a full marathon and now I crossfit and I'm training for my second marathon.
You'll get there. You'll finish it and you will say, "Hey! What's next?!"
Do whatever you can to get through that 22 minutes or whatever it is, and just keep going.0
