Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred - Level Up Question

Hey Everyone!

I just started Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred (day two) and I love it!

I was just wondering, for anyone who has done it before, how long until you leveled up from level one to level two?

All of the circuit workouts she does are manageable for me except the push-ups. Should I wait to level up until I can do the push-ups without modifying?

Just looking for some guidance is anyone has any! Thanks ya'll!

I did each level 10 days. Not in a row but 10 days total for each level.
I had pretty good results. I still don't do "real" push-ups. I do the modified ones.

i can't do more than one real push up at a time so i just do them on my knees. I have been reading recently where people do 10 days and then go on to the next level but have done it before where i would just go to the next level when i felt like i needed more of a challenge and that was waaaaaayyyyy more than 10 days. i am going to try the 10 days this time and see how far i can get this time. Ultimately, i think you should just do what is comfortable for you. There is no shame in backtracking a bit so that you can survive the workout!

I just went to the next level (I can't do all the push ups either) - the rest of it worked out real well that way ....

I spent about 2 weeks on each level, just to make sure I perfected the moves. if the moves are wonky then the exercise is not gonna do anything for you.

I do 10 workouts (days), then level up. I will keep doing that for the whole 30 days (will take me longer because I added in a rest day on Sundays).

I do it 3 days a week. I moved from level 1 to level 2 after two weeks.

This is my second go round on it - I started before and only got to level 2. Took a looooooong vacation and just got back into it 2 weeks ago. Already bumped up to level 2. I just do each level until I don't feel as challenged anymore. If I don't feel like I'm going to die, or notice I'm not nearly as winded/sore, it's time to move up because my body has adjusted!

You can also increase the weights at the same level to increase the intensity.

i got to day 2 of Level 3. It was a great workout, but my knees started killing me! I guess I don't have proper form for the lunges. I don't know though. I ran 3 marathons from Oct 2009-Dec 2010 and never had a knee problem until doing these videos. Which really stinks, b/c I loved them. So, I guess I'm just saying to be careful with the lunges. I did start modifying and just doing squats when she did lunges.

How heavy are the weights you are using? If the moves are too easy maybe you could use heavier weights? The first few times I did it I used 5lb weights and thought I would die (a few years ago, before getting pregnant with my last baby). I started this time with 3lb weights and it is much better, but for people who are stronger, heavier weights would be the way to go.

I did 5 days of Level 1.....much too easy to me.

Level 2 was another story!!!! Most will say it's the hardest level.....spent 15 days on it.....

    Level 3 was 10 days.

I completed it in 40 days....was also running/cardio other days but had great results.

I only did level 1 one time as it was too easy for my fitness level. I did level 2 5 times, then level 3 since then. I moved up from 5 to 8 lbs about 4 sessions ago. It is a great workout. I am toying with alternating between 2 and 3 as I don't feel one is significantly harder than the other one.

Btw, here are my results....keep in mind it took me 40 days (I was running 2-3 times a week) and a lot of it was my diet, too, so be sure and eat clean :)

I did 10 days of each level. I still modify my push ups, though. I do about half of the full push up, then drop to my knees.

    These are my results:
