Exhausted after eating?

Every time I eat I get so tired I feel like I need a nap. Is this normal? Can I do something to stop this?

    After you eat your body reroutes blood and energy to digest your food. Take a nap.

    Are you eating a lot of carbs/sugar?

    Maybe it's due to carbs if you are heavy on them? Alternatively maybe you are having too large portion sizes? If neither of these, then maybe you are just exhausted after all the preparation that goes into making a meal! Alternatively maybe you are constantly on the go and it's the act of sitting down that suddenly makes you realise how tired you are, rather than it actually being the food? I'm not an expert so these are just my thoughts. If you can fit in a nap and it doesn't affect you sleeping at night then go ahead and have one x
  • Carb overload. Switch to higher protein and you'll feel great!!

    I get that way as well, If I have a good meal for lunch, it's sleep coma time, funny never happens after dinner or breakfast though.

    For me this happens when i eat carbs. expecially any bread. I switched to a low carb high protien diet and feel great!

    I don't feel tired but rather ...more hungry after eating. LOL I sometimes stay without food for quite long time because of work or something distraction but once I start eating, I feel more hungry. this really sucks.

    I agree, you are probably tired because of what he mentioned, just take a nap if you can. I had to this afternoon!
