i'm working 16 hour shifts next Monday and Tuesday, and would like some ideas of some premade snacks and/or meals that can be easily eaten on the go. Anyone have any ideas?

Bolognaise sauce (with carrot, cabbage, onion, lean ground beef mince, tomato paste, canned tomatoes and herbs) poured over steamed cauliflower.
    Filling and tastes great ;)

I work 2 jobs on monday and wednesday... I pack a cooler, yes, a cooler... I have two meals and my fruits, water, and whatever else I might want. For instance, I make 2 salads... 2- 1 cup servings of fruit/veggy all precut and in baggies. yogurt or pudding, and I am bad about wanting something crunchy and salty, so I usually pack quaker oats caramel popcorn, special k chips or something with a limit of calories... I try to log before I leave the house to make sure I have enough cals... so I won't hit the vending machines here at work. I thought I was being paranoid to start with... but its safer for me this way, because if I don't I will send out for something that WILL NOT BE GOOD> ;)... don't be ashamed to pack your food... hope this helps.

    Veggie sticks with hummus
Salads with chicken or tuna (just transport the dressing seperately)
    Granola bars
    Trail mix
Sandwiches can be made really fast
    Bake some healthy muffins/cookies
    Yogurt with fruit and granola
    Cheese sticks
  • If you have a microwave, the Healthy Choice Steamers frozen meals are actually kinda good. Not a good idea for every meal, but they have healthy choices for lunch and dinner if you don't have time to make something to bring. As for snacks, I keep single serving sizes of nuts (the Planter's wholesome nut mixes) and reduced fat string cheese to eat at work. Both can be eaten quickly and have protein and just a little fat (but not too much) to fill you up and last a little longer than some other snacks. If you are a chocolate lover, try the Kellogg's Fiber Plus Antioxidants granola bars. My favorite is the Dark Chocolate Almond, but the Chocolate Coconut Fudge tastes like a Girl Scout Samoas cookie. I love those for breakfast. They satisfy my sweet craving and give me enough fiber to make it to lunch. (120-130 calories each)

    Here's some stuff I pack (I work 12 hour shifts a lot):

    -apples, peaches, bananas etc
-bagel with Laughing Cow Cream Cheese wedge
-almonds/walnuts (I measure out a serving and put in a bag)
    -cheese sticks
-Greek yogurt with berries (I measure this out and put it in a tupperware container)
-sandwiches or wraps (turkey and tuna keep pretty well)
    -premade frozen quesadillas http://budgetbytes.blogspot.com/2012/02/hearty-black-bean-quesadillas-661.html
    -premade frozen breakfast burritos http://budgetbytes.blogspot.com/2011/01/freezer-breakfast-burritos-356-recipe.html

You can also get some granola/Odwalla/Luna bars, pita chips and hummus, baby carrots/celery/broccoli with ranch, frozen lunches/dinners (I like Lean Cuisine but I don't eat them anymore because it's cheaper to make my own stuff), whole wheat crackers with peanut butter, etc.

Try making a bunch of snacks/meals on a day off and refrigerate or freeze them so you can grab and go. I do this and it saves me a lot of hassle.

Thank you all for some great ideas! There is a fridge and microwave, so I could always heat someone up. It's just going to be packing enough to fill me up and not need anything else at the end of the day.
