Oatmeal as a late night snack?

Lately, I've been super stressed and busy during the day so I haven't gotten all my food calories in. I get hungry late at night, however and am trying to be smart about it.
I L.O.V.E Active Lifestyle (I think that's the name) maple and pecan oatmeal. 180 cals.
I thought I read at one time that oatmeal was a good late night snack.......What do you guys think? Or do you have any suggestions for something else??

When I am in your shoes I go for protein instead of carbs. I will make a smoothie with proteing powder or have some nuts. From everything I've read you shouldn't consume carbs in the evening, especially near bedtime.
Complete broscience, if they fit into your macros eat them. I eat 2200 calories 1 hr before bed.0 -

This is completely false. It doesn't matter when you eat your carbs.
I would eat the oatmeal if I hit my protein target for the day already.0 -

Hold on.....let me put my oatmeal down........ . Haha. This makes sense though......and my protein powder is sitting lonely on the counter......0 -
I think Oatmeal is a wise choice, compared to ice cream or cookies or something. It'll satisfy your sweet tooth and keep you full for the night. One of my favorite oatmeals is instant strawberries and cream. Then there's the Lavish Dark Chocolate oatmeal, with which I like to eat with some dark chocolate chips and coconut flakes. Then my ultimate favorite is oats, honey, peanut butter, dark chocolate chips and flax meal. High in calories but SOOOOO YUMMY!!!!! Or this thing called 'Elvis Bars' (you can find recipe online)
If you like cottage cheese, that's a pretty good late night snack too. It has casein, a slow release protein that keeps you full longer or something. I've been wanting to incorporate it into a late night shake - cottage cheese, skim milk, strawberries and a tablespoon or so of strawberry milk powder (nestle)... not sure how it's gonna come out, but I hear that cottage cheese helps to make smoothies/shakes thick and creamy.
Lately I've been having Flan for dessert. My hubby bought some from this lady that sells it down the road and I've been trying SO hard not to just devour the entire thing in one sitting lol I'm being a good girl and having one small slice every night. Not the best choice, but certainly don't want to waste delicious homemade custards!! lol
Anyways, to answer your question, YES... oatmeal is a good late night snack lol Sorry for my rambling. I'm SO tired and I don't know what else to do to keep myself awake!!

Nope not at all I get my weight in protein plus some everyday usually And when I am trying to lose weight i get around 90g0 -

If it fits you're macros, eat that ****.
If you are on MFP base macros then going over you're protein is a good thing.
No foods need to be specific for any time of day. I have oats/cereal/bacon eggs or whatever else as desserts all the time. IIFYM.0 -
To be honest with you, if you really want to eat something at night then consider drinking slowly digestible Casein Protein, and 1 tbsp of natural Peanut butter. Oatmeal gives you the full feeling, and that may or may not be something you may want to feel before going to sleep. Doesn't really matter when you eat your food but your body uses less energy when you are sleeping, don't try to pillage a whole food court and be considerate. What happens when your body uses less energy during sleep? Let me know if you can find out.
I eat a good 400-500 calories of pure protein before going to sleep usually. Slowly digestible protein of course.0
