Comfy walking shoes

I'm going to England in a few months (May, to be exact), and I'd imagine I'm going to be doing a ton of walking while there. I want to find some shoes that I can walk in, but aren't ugly. It seems like all the comfy walking shoes are also unattractive.

I want to get them a little early, so that I can break them in before my trip.

Any suggestions?

For sneakers, I like to go with a low end running shoe. They tend to be really good for walking around on pavement all day.

I work for a Sports Medicine Podiatry clinic and these are the shoes we typically recommend. Find a pair you think is most comfortable:

Note: You don't have to purchase a walking shoe for them to be comfortable walking. My personal favorite are the Saucony's
  • If you are looking for walking shoes anything will really work, but if you want to work out a little to the new Reebox Toning ones ( I forgot the offical name) are suppose to be great! I'm getting some at my next pay day! My friend says they are great.

Another friend uses the shape-ups and she loves them. She's on her feet all day (nurse) and she never gets tired in those shoes.

I love my Danskos! second favorite would be a Birkie. My DD has a cute pair of Eckos that she loves, they're a Mary Jane style so cuter than a gym shoe.

Try shape ups. They come in sandal style and others that look less sporty but still the comfort. I just got my first pair--sneaker-type, but plan to get other styles.. Mine were about $100. My feet deserve the best!!
