Surprising motivators

Last saturday while doing my workout, I had the tv turned on and to CMT for the top 20 country music countdown
(don't hate on the country music)
Anyways I was nearing the end of my workout and had my last circuit of jumping jacks and I was tuckering out when on came Keith Urban's song/video "For You" from the Act of Valor movie
I dunno what it is about this song and video but I got PUMPED!! Maybe it's the message or the clips of soldiers that gets me going but it really motivates me to push a little harder
Makes me curious....do you have something that might seem a lil odd that totally gets you pumps for your workouts or during??

Anytime I hear, "Rolling in The Deep," by Adele, I just want to put on my tough face and bust out some calories. I love that, "there's a fire starting in my heart," and it's a great mantra!0
-
i watch ESPN while on the treadmill. While lifting I listen to hard rock..i feel extra tough lol0
-
oooh I feel like I need to make a new workout playlist now for lifting! Good Call0
-
I get super motivated when someone says I can't do something or they share an opinion of me that runs contrary to how I view myself.0
-
I watch movies while on the treadmill and whenever there is an exciting part or something great is going to happen, I tend to keep going a little bit longer, plus- it makes the time fly! extra motivation: a thriller or action0

THIS. I love it when people do that. I like to be underestimated.I get super motivated when someone says I can't do something or they share an opinion of me that runs contrary to how I view myself.0

Whenever I see a friend from high school that I haven't seen for a while that looks amazing It makes me want to look even more amazing! Teehee. Nothing like some friendly rivalry to get you all motivated.0

One time I was on the elliptical and I was watching Dog the Bounty Hunter... They were getting ready to bust into a house and get the bad guy which made my adrenaline apparently shoot through the roof and I was going like a maniac on the machine! So funny. I had no idea!0

For years I'd watch Supernatural while I ran on the treadmill and I'd run the whole time but sprint when anyone on screen was running, they run A LOT. This also works with Dr. Who. I would not suggest listening to SPN on your iPod while running at night. It was incredible for my pace but I really thought that I was being followed and got incredible paranoid...however, it seriously was my fastest 5k...ever.0

I have a "Zombies, Run!" playlist with a lot of high-energy music that I picked that I felt were also fairly appropriate when one runs from the undead:
"Man or Animal" - Audioslave
"No Way Out" - Dope
"Die Die My Darling" - Metallica
"For Whom the Bell tolls" - Metallica (also props to Zombieland)
"Tornado" - Mindless Self Indulgence
"Every Day Is The Same" - Nine Inch Nails
"Message In Blood" - Pantera
"Becoming" - Pantera
"Sleep Now In the Fire" - Rage Against The Machine
"Sick Bubblegum" - Rob Zombie
"Monopoly on Sorrow" - Suicidal Tendencies
"The Distance" - Cake
"Chop Me Up" - Justin Timberlake (don't hate)
"Before I'm Dead" - kidneythieves
"Fuel" - Metallica
"Bulls on Parade" - Rage Against The Machine
"Human Animal" - Biohazard
"Got The Time" - Anthrax
"Hey Man Nice Shot" - Filter
"Cold" - Static-X
"You Can't Bring Me Down" - Suicidal Tendencies
Good stuff.0 -
i alternate.... i have a playlist on my youtube channel of some badass videos. some days, i use the opportunity to get my subscription list watched, too.
on other days, i'll jam out with my ipod and whatever music is making me feel it. this week it has been the holywood album from manson. next week, probably some necrophagia or torso****... who know!0 -
The movie "Death Race".
Weird, right? Well, it seems to always be on FX - so if it's on, I watch it. It has action, violence, some plot, more violence, car chases... and it just gets you excited. Even though I know what's going to happen because I've seen the movie probably 30 times, I still get excited when I watch it so I speed up and take that excitement out on the elliptical.0 -
When I get to the point of muscle failure during my weight lifting, I switch my playlist to Five Finger Death Punch's Back For More.
Get's my motivation going in high gear to finish hard and finish strong.

MSI is definitely underrated, and Tornado is just such a high-energy track that I love when it kicks into rotation.
Now, in defense of the JT, "Chop Me Up" features Timbaland and the Three Six Mafia. Awesome track. I am proud to look like an utter fool on the treadmill when it plays0 -
I normally listen to hip-hop/pop music while I'm walking.. However, the other day at the park I turned on some heavy metal and made it out of the trail faster than ever.
Just triggered something inside.. made me feel like a BAMF! Haha. It's funny how music can do that.0 -
