Exercise Calorie Question

Ok I am sure this has been asked a million times but I'm new so please help me out....
When you exercise and it then raises the amount of calories you have left, do you get to eat that many more calories? And what if your food intake are unequal...
For example my goal calories are 1540. Today I have eaten 617 calories and burned 562 exercising, so it is saying that I have 1485 calories left.....Do I now need to eat 1485 calories?? Or do I only eat 1540 or less a day no matter what?

.If you eat 2500 cals, then that's what you eat. If you burn 2000 (assuming that's the total you burn, not just through exercise) then you have an excess of 500...those are the calories your body did not need for its processes that day. They will tend to be stored (as fat) for future use if you get to a point where you aren't consuming enough calories, then your body will go to its fat stores (or muscle tissue) for fuel.
If you burn 2000 cals/day but eat 4500, your excess would be 2500...since 3500 cals = 1 lb of fat, you'd be gaining weight rather quickly (about 1.5 lbs every 2 days).0 -

You need to net 1540 daily. So if you eat 1540, then exercise and burn 540, you have only netted 1000 which is under your calorie goal for the day. So yes you can eat your exercise calories back. Your 1540 calorie goal already has taken into consideration the deficit you need to lose weight.0 -

^This!
1200 net calories is the bare minimum (for most women) ... these calories are required for lung, heart, kidney, etc. function. Eating less than 1200 NET is unhealthy.
MFP calculates a deficit BEFORE execise ..... not all people will/can exercise.
**Just be careful not to eat back too many exercise calories .... lots of machines & MFP will overstate calorie burns (some people just enter a percentage of exercise calories .... an tweak up/down as needed).0 -
How did you decide on 1540- that will dictate whether you need to eat some or all of your excercise calories back. Meaning, is that number your TDEE minus a specified number of cals (to create a cal deficit to lose weight)? If so, does your TDEE include excercise activity? If it is your TDEE but does not include excercise activity- you should eat some or all of your excercise cals back (depending upon how confident you are with the excercise curn rate- the more confident you are, the closer I would go to eating them all back)..
When I joined the site, and I put in all my info, that's what it came up with. I put that I have a sedentary lifestyle, because until I decided to get in shape I was not doing much, but sitting on my butt.0
