Oh my. Different strokes for different folks and all, but i didn't even know this WAS a diet trend! I don't think I could ever do it. Coming from a hunting family, deer and moose are staples in my diet0

I've done it before...Been vegan for a month and felt great. I added some meat (red and other) back in (occasionally like 1-2 per week) and couldn't tell a difference. Usually do it on my weight lifting days.0

Yes, I did. And I feel great!
I did so because after a few years of horrible aftermath of eating red meat and going to doctors to figure it out; with no
answers--I found that as we get older some ppl stop producing the enzymes that break down red meat.
I feel so much better and no longer do I have pain or other issues! It was a choice I made that benefited my health.0 -
I have red meat on occasion, but very rarely! I don't think it has affected me much of all except that when I eat a steak, I usually can only eat half of it before I'm full when I used to be able to down one no problem.0

I don't feel any different actually. I was never big on red meat anyways, so mayb that's why I dont feel any different. I only ate it every once in a while.0

My dad hasnt had red meat in over 10years due to stomach problems. When we went to a naturopath and she looked at his blood, she knew right away that he didnt eat red meat. We never told her. She said it was the best blood shes ever seen. She does multiple patients daily. There was very little bacteria in the blood and she explained more when we were looking under the microscope but I forget the tech. detials. She was sooo impressed by it.0

I've been a vegetarian since 2008. No weight loss specifically tied to cutting out meat, but my conscience feels better since I choose not to eat meat for ethical reasons. I honestly can't remember if I felt like it affected my energy or health at that time.0

I am a pescatarian (seafood is the only meat I consume) and when I am working out, drinking lots of water, and watching what I eat, I feel great! I think if you cut it out and still maintain other unhealthy habits it won't really have too much of a positive affect on it's own. But who knows, some people notice a big difference where as some just can't feel well unless they eat red meat (like my dad, still offers me steak almost every single day lol)
Sorry if this isnt super helpful but I think it really depends on you and your body, maybe just give it a try and see how you feel?0 -
I cut out red meat over a year ago. I might have it once or twice a month (if that), but I definitely will not have it on a regular basis anymore.
I have no idea whether that helped me lose 80 lbs or not, but I definitely notice that my stomach handles lean meats a lot better, and I usually end up with diarrhea after eating beef and such.0 -
I feel better, but haven't noticed weight loss yet. It's only because I've been going over on calories. I've been a Pescetarian (vegetarian with the exception of fish) for about 2 months now. I used to have this strange rash on certain parts of my arms and hands that I went to dermatologists for years about. They kept saying I had dry skin. It has completely gone away since not eating meat.0

I don't think I've noticed a difference. I haven't had red meat for over 4 years and feel fine. I started off as a vegetarian but added fish and poultry back in though.0

I haven't had red meat, let alone any meat, in years. Growing up, my family ate a lot of chicken, so that was hard to cut out. Red meat was never a big part of my diet, so giving it up wasn't too difficult. I will say, however, that eliminating meat from my diet has made me feel better overall.0

No way, I like my red meat. I do eat a lot of chicken though. I think it is best to eat all the food groups just try to reduce portion sizes. I think it is crazy to eliminate a food group entirely. You want to lose weight but still live your life and nobody can maintain a crazy diet long term. I do reduce my carbs after lunch time and try to eat mostly vegetables and protein after lunch. This helps me to lose weight. I also drink a protein drink every day at 3:00 pm to curb my hunger for when I go home after work. This helps me stay on track and I don't overeat after work and I don't eat after dinner either.0

About 20 years ago doctors found a tumor in my mom's brain and they told her the only solution would be surgery. She was terrified of surgery and decided to go all holistic and natural. She cut out all read meat, ate mostly fish and very very occasionaly some chicken/turkey. She ate of course all free-range meat and fish, she also ate completely organic and took some herbal medicine. About 8 months after fully changing her diet she went back to the doctor, they had to take several x-rays because they couldn't believe the tumor was gone. My mom has not touched red meat since and still eats super healthy and organic.
Red meat can have a lot of affect on your health, even if you don't physically notice it your body will still function better and you will live longer. Plus they are fantastic substitutes for red meat, turkey burger are million times more delicious, and fish and chicken just tastes soo good, who needs red meet when you have that?!
I have almost completely cut our red meet our of my diet, on very rare occasion I will have a regular beef hot dot from 7/11 and once in rare rare while my bf's parents make steak or ribs, which I can not say no to, they are so delicious, but it's always balanced off with other healthy stuff0 -
I don't eat read meat very often these days and only have animal protine (meat, milk, eggs...) for dinner most of the time. The biggest differences to me are that 1) I feel full longer off of plant based protine so I snack less and 2) I tend to feel gassier after I eat meat (red meat is the worst) now. Crazy that beans don't do that to me now yet a steak will. Haha0

Yeah, I'm considering it for health reasons. I've been researching it and it's believed (key word) to increase the risk of colorectal cancer and heart disease. I lost my father to colorectal cancer and my mother to heart disease. I rarely eat it as it is, so I figure eliminating it won't be hard at all.0
