Everythings falling out of control. im 330 pounds and that scares the living *beep* out of me. I want to fix it, but i cant help but wonder "Whats the point?" I hate being fat. I hate myself b/c of it. I'm so angry with people and life. I hate to admit it, but even with God...
I take my frustration out on people and i dont mean too...
Really, i dont...
but its so *beeping* hard to be civil when you hate life and everything in it...
I need somone to help encourage me not to give up. i'm so afraid i am...
and if i give up this time....
its only a matter of time before i die of some freaking heart attack
and as much as i hate life and myself...
i dont want that.
i dont want to give up hope.
not yet...

You are already over the first, hardest, crappiest of hurdles ther is to come. You are HERE! Welcome. I and others are here for you! Most likely we have been, are at, or are creeping upon where you are. There IS NOT A GOSH DARN THING you can tell, spout, spew, or exhibit that we on here have not either felt, feel, or are feeling at the moment.
This is an open place. Of course if you get too mouthy, there are TONS OF MOM'S (you know I love you guys) that will tell you to watch it, but otherwise, speak your piece.
Once again, welcome and Happy New Year!!!0 -
you can change, but you've got to dig down and grit your teeth with determination.
I saw the doctor in August and was told i needed to make an appointment with the diabetic clinic. it was the wake up i needed. i do not want to live my life like that. My weight that day was 301.
So, Wednesday morning, August 26, i started dieting. hard. the doctor wanted me working at 1000 calories a day (which is under the mfp suggested calories). 2 weeks later, i joined a gym and started a water aerobics class 3 days a week. 2 weeks after that i saw a trainer at the gym to get me started on weight training for the days i'm not in the pool.
Well, we just past december 26, my 4 month anniversary and I have lost 60 lbs. i still have about a hundred to go, so i have to stay motivated, but it is paying off.
I've missed the diabetes bullet and now want to get off high blood pressure meds. I go back to the doctor in february (i hope he falls off his chair).
i totally understand. i am fat, but fat is not what i'm about. i tired of feeling that others see this weight i'm carrying not me. i have to make this change to become who i should be. You can do it too. You have to want it, really want it. This desire has to be stronger to help you overcome the hard parts. You can control your eating and exercise habits.
Remember it is all about choice. We can do this one choice at a time. i choose to exercise, not watch tv. i choose to have a cup of tea, not cookies or chips. i choose to have a chicken breast & salad with lemons (instead of dressing), not bacon burger & fries.
One day at a time. One choice at a time. It is a new year and can be a new you, too.
you can contact me anytime you want if you need to talk. -katie0 -
Hey sweetie, welcome.
Food is a monster, no doubt about it.
But this group fights monsters together!
Tell you what, make one change... one little thing that makes you feel like your heading in the right direction.
Take a walk... or don't drink any soft drinks today .... or floss your teeth...
Something that makes you feel like you are in control of your destiny.
Because you are. And a series of tiny steps is the path to a goal.
Best wishes... and hugs.0 -
Well Mark,
You can't give up.
Admitting that you have a problem is the first and hardest part. Now, you're here.
If you're in a warmer climate, why not take a walk today? Or eat some carrots for a snack instead?
And don't get frustrated sweetheart. That's going to make it harder.
If there's a will, there's a way, BUT if you say it doesn't work, it won't.
C'mon.
We can do this.
Our support group is never ending here, and!!!
We can work together to achieve our goals.

I read this last week and it really struck me. Food was the source of the original sin. Of all the wonderful things God provided in the garden, Eve was tempeted by the one food she was not supposed to eat. Now obviously there were some additional temptaions that came with eating that food but when it really comes down to it, food was still the source of the original sin.
Look how we are tempted today. Fast food and processed, unhealthy foods have waged advertising wars for our money. The temptations are EVERYWHERE. Few people eat, or drink, the food God has given us. We eat and drink what the world has sold us as popular and fun. As I type this, there are two things in front of me, a banana and a can of diet coke, guess which one is open. I long ago fell into the world's food trap, which is why I am here.
Start looking at food from a Godly view. Your profile says you want to work in the mission field. Think about how many people around the world just don't have clean water or enough food. You have been so richly blessed to have an near endless supply of water and healthy foods. I'm not trying to lecture you into feeling guilty. You should feel so blessed that God chose for you to have these resources and you should use them wisely. It's not easy. You have found a source of support though so now it's time for some action.
As for being angry with God, I've been there too, for totally different reasons. It's not fun. It's pretty lonley and self hating. Do two things today, make sure you spend some time in the word, with an open and thankful heart and take a baby step toward geting healthy. God has a plan for you, start seeking His direction!!!! You are not going to change bad and old habits over night. So do one thing, go for a walk, drink only water, replace one snack with something healthy. Just do something to prove to yourself that you both can and want to make this change. Then do one additional thing tomorrow. Read an article about someone who has walked in your shoes and is now running, read about places you'd like to visit in the mission field, and remember that field can be in your backyard Keep taking steps toward realizing how much God loves you and how much you are worht not only to him but to this world!!!!. One per day, just one for now. You CAN do that!!!! You already took the first few steps! You found this site, started making friends and posting, now keep going0 -
