Calories

Hi All!

When I workout and enter it in my log, the calories get added to my daily allotment. Should I try and eat this new total? Or is this where the deficit should come from to lose weight? If anyone knows can you explain all this to me?

Thanks! Michelle

Your deficit is already built into your plan. So whatever you do that is extra you get to eat back.

Aye, you get extra calories for exercise.

Most suggest eating 50% to 75% of the calories back, that way there is a little wiggle room for errors in calculations.

the calories that mfp puts you at is the calories you can have even if you dont exersize so if you exersize its like a bonus you can eat them if you want but you dont have to or you can just eat part of them ! and also this is a another tip when you do something like gardening or housework or moving your body for at least 15 min or more! you can add it as exersize too! theres a site called [the most Accuate Calories Burned Calculator/health status] its the site i like to find out the cals you burn then go to my exersize on mfp and add it to it ,then you can track it ....it is what I do some times when i cant exersize ,it works! I hope it helps !

Thank you so much, you answred my question. I workout really hard so I can have extra calories to eat but I tend to not eat them all and I didn't know if that was ok, but now I know that it is so thank you!
  • You probably should try to eat at least some of them back or else depending on your goals you could be creating an unhealthy caloric deficit.
