Help changing Garmin 305 watch strap

My strap broke and I have a new one and a little tool to change it. The instructions say to use the tool to remove the spring loaded screw. I see where to put the tool into the watch band (I think) but I am have not figured out how to get the pin/screw out. I must be a dolt. Any help out there?

Wendy, I had a horrid time with changing mine (405CX) and ended up bending the pin and rendering it useless. It had tape on it for just over a year. I would bring it to a jeweler, that's what Garmin suggests to do if you're having trouble!0

Thanks for this great advice!0

You don't still have the little tool that came with it? Like a jeweler's flat blade screwdriver but with a slightly forked end. In fact a jeweler's screwdriver should work great. If you push the strap to one side you should see the pin. You'll see it has a little collar. Get the blade over that collar and pull it down a little. Should pop right out.0

Now I'm Golden-I get how to use the tool!0
