Jogging vs. running

It really bothers me when people say self-depreciating things like, "I'm a jogger, not a runner" just because their pace may not be the fastest. If you are out there running, no matter what your speed, you are a RUNNER. It doesn't matter how fast you go, or how many races you have run (or maybe you've never even run a race). If you are out there putting one foot in front of the other, and doing your best, you are part of the running tribe. Own it and be proud of yourself!

Agreed in full! Jogging is just another term for running slower, it's almost akin to saying a green apple isn't an apple when someone says jogging isn't running.0

I use the word jog because it's the slowest speed one can go without slipping into walking and that's my pace. This was what I would call a jog back when I played competitive soccer in my youth. I'd like to increase my speed to a pace I would consider running.
I feel like using the words running and jogging as I define them gives props to those who run long distances and are competitive in races.
Thanks for this though!0
