Mix Messages to Eat or Not to Eat

Everything I'm read or hearing is sending mix messages when it comes down to eating fruits. I hear/read only eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Then I would hear or read to not eat any fruits because it turns into sugar. What's a girl to do when she got to have at least one fruit per day? Feeling like the battle is already lost if i can't have any fruits. lol

    Who is telling you not to eat fruit? And of course fruit has sugar, surely you knew that already... That's not a good reason not to eat it.

    fruit contains sugar, it doesn't "turn into it". One serving of fruit a day isn't going to be a problem, especially if you stick to berries and the lower sugar fruits rather than juicy sweet things. Buckets of fruit could be a problem.

    I eat a few fruit cups a day (2 - 3 sugar free fruit cups) and some fresh fruit as well.
    It keeps your appetite curbed and is healthy! As long as it's not all you're eating you should be fine. :)

    chillax, chica--usually the "no-fruits" rule is for low-carbers. and yes it's sugar but it's natural sugar and your body naturally craves sweet things and mother nature ain't trying to kill you lol. no one will ever get fat and die because they ate a peach.

    eat whatever is healthy and makes you happy.

    fresh is always healthier because it's a natural sugar instead of a processed sugar. It's kinda like fat. Healthy fats (egg yokes) are essencial to the diet. The natural sugar is energy the body needs to keep you moving & boost your metabolism.

    Read everything you can on the subject and then decide for yourself what information makes the most sense to you and go with that.

    But if you like fruit, then eat it. If it's a choice between an apple or a chocolate chip cookie, eat the apple. If eating fruit will help you reach your goals, then eat 'em up.

    Nothing wrong with eating fruit, you wouldn't eat 20 servings of it a day.
    Eat the fruit it good for you.
