But I must warn you, I am a little sassy and I tell it like it is. LOL I'm looking to add some more friends that are serious about losing weight and getting healthy. I don't really want friends that eat a bunch of unhealthy foods and then complain that they aren't losing weight. I am looking for truely dedicated friends that are interested in changing their life.

I started my new lifestyle on the 23rd of July so I am still pretty new, but I know what I need and will benefit from with this site. I will try to give support as much as I can and expect the same in return. I know that I need to stay motivated and so far this site is awesome!

I already have some awesome friends but I am looking to add more. My name is Lori and I am a stay at home Mom to 3 kids and I have been battling this extra fat since after my first pregnancy. If I sound like a match for you, please add me!

Question: are you open to general fitness discussions and using resources from other sites? I really enjoy helping people, and also being pushed a bit. Sometimes, a bit of challenge and competition help as well.

I am working with a fitness coach, doing physical training in the army (since it's a daily requirement), riding my bike to work when weather and time permit, and additional physical training when possible. My absolute biggest challenge has been nutrition. But I spent last week really watching my diet and every meal was focused. I lost 5lbs last week...

I don't know how to add you, but I figured I'd see if I sounded like someone you would want in your corner.

P.S. I'm married, so I promise you won't get no crazy *kitten* come-on's or anything like that. (I know that marriage doesn't matter to some people, but for me it's important).

    Hi Lori!

I like that you tell it like it is. You have so much focus and determination so you WILL reach your goals, and it totally helps to have like-minded peopele surrounding you. I don't know where you live or whether you want people to know that, but I did a search to see if there were people in my area who were on MFP and I made a friend who lives in the same town as me. I am wondering if you tried that you. Maybe this potential friend might even need the kick in the butt too knowing that you are nearby. Do you have workout buddies or walking buddies near you?

Anyway, just wanted to comment that your insistence on meeting SERIOUS people is the right thing for you! This is what will make or break your motivation when the going gets tough!

    Ciao for now,
    Lisa

    Hello! Welcome to MFP!

MFP is a really great resource to keep you focused and connect you with a wealth of fitness resources and like minded folks.

    1. Log your foods every day - don't skip days, or parts of your day. log everything!
    2. Analyze each day - see where it went good and where it went bad - too much fat? maybe too many carbs? over the calorie limit? Identify and plan how to correct it for tomorrow.
    3. Reach out to the community with questions or advice needs.
    4. Build a network of friends here!
    5. Above all, do not believe everything you read here. There is a lot of great advice, but also some misleading and hype type advice. Part of getting fit is educating yourself in aspects of health and fitness. Make sure any questionable advice is looked at with a scientific eye and look for facts, evidence, and most importantly real world proof.
    6. You are more than a number. Sometimes the scale may not say what you hoped - thats fine. weight loss is not a straight line declination. Its a bumpy line that drops over time. Don't let single day numbers get your focus away from term based results.
    7. Vary your exercises. Your body forms memories and can slow down how it burns fat and builds muscles. Keep it confused! Hit it hard with cardio styles. Build lean muscle to burn even more fat.
    8. and above all - take your photo now! You will want to look back and have a starting BEFORE picture to proudly display along with your series of PRESENT or CURRENT photos during your transformation and continued lifestyle of fitness.

I welcome you, and anyone else out there to add me as a friend. I have made fitness and health my passion and love the idea of folks joining me in my new lifestyle of being fit, healthy, and most importantly - HAPPY!.

I'm here to support and motivate!!! I find my own success comes easier when I help and fuel other folks success.

and remember - most folks care more about the quality of fuel they put in their lawn mowers than the fuel they put in their bodies. Don't be one of those people. Whole foods. Natural foods. Intelligent choices.

    Fit for life,
