Hi! My name is Rachel, and I've been using MFP religiously for about two months now, and figured I should see if this whole having MFP friends thing helps.
The highest weight I ever saw on a scale was 278, and I started MFP when I was at 270, after a few months of (casually) watching what I eat and attempting to be more active. It was after a diagnosis of pseudotumor cerebri on May 22 that I kicked my butt into gear, and now I'm down to 245! One of my main goals if proving to the doctor that I don't need drugs to treat this stupid medical condition, and I'm well on my way to doing that. My goal weight is around 165 - once I get into the "healthy" BMI range, I'll reevaluate and see how I feel.
A fitness goal I have is to learn to enjoy running. Right now, I've just been biking, walking, and doing the elliptical, but I'm thinking I'll start running relatively soon. My career goal is to live in Africa working with a community development organization, and I know I won't have access to fancy gyms over there...so I need to LOVE running before moving!
