I'm from Canada and don't know anything about US plans.
I'm going to Chicago for a weekend (3 days) at the end of the month for a conference and would love to be able to still text and have data while there; phone calls aren't important to me.
Any suggestions on what I can get that would be the most cost efficient? My current carrier has a 3-day US plan, but I want to see if something on the US side would be better
I have an Android with SIM card.
I live near Detroit, so any suggestions as what store(s) to go to there would be greatly appreciated!

Buy a prepaid phone and some minutes. AT&T will probably be a good bet and you may be able to use your sim card, but the cheapest will be Virgin Mobile, or Boost Mobile. Check out their websites.0
