Morning routine

Hi guys,
I thought you would be the best to ask about this topic. I have been trying to get an Exercise routine together for a while. Between my boyfriend, church, bible study, and volunteer work I can't get to the gym but once a week. I was thinking of starting to go in the morning, but waking up an extra hour early is practically impossible.
Do you guys have any hints on what I can do? Is there something I can do to really motivate myself so I don't hit the snooze button 10 times!! yes it's happened!
Thank you and Happy New Year!

what if you don't start with an hour early, just 15 minutes at a time? set the alarm 15 min earlier and workout you know, for that added time. then after you get used to that amount of time, maybe two weeks, go 15 minutes earlier again. look, you've just gotten up 30 minutes earlier!the second 15 minutes should actually be earlier to adust to than the first. then keep goin guntil you have the hour you need.
also, you can put the alarm clock on the other side of the room so you can't reach it, or get a clock with two alarms and set both.
hope it helps!0 -
You have GOT to tell yourself I am going to do it TODAY! It is a matter of you DO or you DON"T!!! Take the alarm and set it far enough away to where you get up and move to shut it off and still close enought o hear it, make sure your clothes are laid out, gym bag with water etc is packed and ready to go. My motto this year was no excuses and I made my goal of 305 fitness days out of the 2009 year!! You can only do this if you really want to. Join a group and post them when you are gettin up and report later what you DID do at the gym!!! I wish you a healthy new year now go set that alarm!!!0

Here's what I do:
(1) move the alarm clock away from the bed so you have to shut it off while standing up.
(2) put my clothes next to the alarm clock. Immediately get dressed to go to the gym.
(3) have everything I need to leave on the table next to the door so there's no delay in getting out.
(4) have the coffee maker "cocked" so all I have to do is hit the "On' button to start brewing the magical first cup (I use an old one-cup coffee maker.)
(5) warm the car up
(6) retrieve the magical coffee
(7) go to Gold's, change into swimsuit. Look at evil love handles in the mirror to remind myself why I'm there.
(8) ignore Sirenic call of the hot tub. Jump immediately into the pool. Stretch out.
(9) Swim 50 laps
(10) Drink lots of water. Eat nothing for the first hour after swimming (or any exercise) to let the increased metabolism burn more calories.
(11) Keep my office sticked with tasty low-fat snacks, like pickles, dates and carrrots.
(12) weigh myself once a week - not every day.
(13) Reward myself for progress - that's important.
By swimming three times a week and sticking (mostly) to the diet I am able to easily lose 1-2 pounds a week. (Yes, I still cheat with ice cream and chips, in moderation, throughout the week).0 -
Thank you guys!! I love the idea of having the clothes ready to go!! I would love the coffee but I'm allergic to caffinee so there is a no go on coffee unless it's decaf! I tried to do it this morning but failed because the stupid alarm clock didn't go off. I was lucky enough to automatically wake up for work. Tomorrow is a new day and I hope a new workout!0
