Hey everyone! It's great that we've got so many people doing this so far! [anyone is still welcome to join]
So for this first weigh-in let's put your first name, what you are at (current weight), and a little something about yourself!

I'm emily, at 164.2, and i love to run, and my favorite food is pickles. (sour, i hate the sweet kind haha)

Ooohhh I wanna join! My name is Cheree, Um.. Im guessing my weight is 225 (I am going to the gym tonight, so I will update that!) and favorite food?? Ummm... All of it hence the weight I am! LOL no, really I am a big steak lover, and of course carbs carbs carbs.. one thing I am trying to stay away from is Starbucks!! I LOVE their Cranberry Bliss bar, with a nonfat caramel machitto (sp) !

I'm Lauren my current weight is 206 and i really don't like to excersise but prefer the eliptical and weight training along with swimming. I work out with my dh so he keeps me going to the gym even when i don't want to. My fav food is pasta any covered with sauce. I am trying to lose weight for my self but my main goal is march we are renewing our vows for our 10yr and i want to look good0 -

Hey! My name is Brittany and I am from Starkville, MS! We are also doing a biggest loser challenge at work! So, I figure if I have two places to be accountable, than I will be more likely to lose the weight! I am currently 188 lbs. I love mexican and sushi! I want to be down to 150 lbs! by April! My name is Nicole, my current weight is 233 and I actually don't enjoy exercising unless I am playing a sport. (I have a hard time running/walking for "no" purpose) I recently got a chocolate lab puppy, so I am hoping he will assist me with my exercising. :-) I definetly think being held accountable is going to help me loose weight! Hi, I'm Renae - weighing in at 167. I am a stay at home mom with 2 kids, daughter 22 months, and a son who is 4. I also do books out of the house. I like to go walking, use the treadmill, and do my workout dvd's. My soft spot is popcorn, and taco chips.0

Hello - hope I'm not too late. My name is Kristy and my current weight is 209lbs. I live in the Bay Area, California. My favoriate food is..pasta and bread and soda. I can't eat it too much anymore...I got lab band surgery in October and including the presurgery weight I had to lose I am down 50lbs..so my goal is to keep up the motivation and dedication.
I try to work out 3X a week. Have been doing The Biggest Loser Shred 30 and Cardio Max. It's fun and I feel the burn.

Hello! I am Theresa and I am at 160. I've been on this site on and off for quite a while, but this is my first post and my first active participation with a group! I am looking forward to this! My main exercise is walking home from work, but I want to see what I am capable of if I really put my mind to it. I still want to be happy and have fun doing it. Lifestyle, right? Hi everyone I'm Kelly . Happy New Year ! Northwestern Ontario Canada here, 200 pounds today, First day back at Myfitnesspal. Can't wait for Biggest Loser to start tomorrow night. I love to walk , but if you read the first line, you'll see why:flowerforyou: I use the treadmill mostly.
-35 C has been our average temp this winter. YUCK why do I live here?
I think this group will be very motivating.

Hey I'm Megan... from Melbourne, Australia I'm looking forward to getting some extra motivation. The only reason I want to loose weight is for myself, and sometimes when there's too much going on, or life is getting me down, I forget about why I'm doing this. I'm sick of people telling me that I don't need to loose weight... because it's not so much about that as it is feeling good about myself. Which I rarely ever do.
Anyway... my favourite food?! Mrs. Fields choc chip cookies... they are heaven
I actually love going to the gym. I love being challenged. So this will be fantastic for me I think! And hopefully I'll make some long distance friends along the way! :happy:
My starting weight, well yesterday it was 65kg, but today it's 67kg :ohwell: I hope that it's just because I'm feeling unwell today, and not a sign of things to come! My goal is to get to around 55kg. I'm not setting a time limit, although next summer would be ideal!

P.S. Kelly, -35 degrees sounds wonderful, we're hitting around 40 degrees here... it's unbearable!!! Although I've never been somewhere that cold!!!0 -

My husband and I are trying to work up to running a marathon by the end of the year. I have never been much of a runner, but have recently really started loving it, and the way I feel after I have accomplished a good run.
My goal is to lose 15 lbs by March.

I'm a MFP newbie, so am kinda lost .... What is the challenge? To lose the most pounds? Most % of your weight? Is it tied it to "Biggest Loser Challenge" TV show (which I don't usually watch)?
Help, please, with more details. I'm all for a thread which helps with accountability!

[PS, I have regained 12 of my hard to lose pounds, and want to lose an additional 5 pounds, for a total of 17 pounds. I just started on Friday Jan.1 at 137 pounds]0 -
Megan- 40 C NOT FAIR. I think I need to visit Austrlia. Its warmed up to -26 today, so why am I complaining. I am planning a warm trip this winter, but probably not until April.

Dee Dee... it is not necessarily a challenge of who looses the most weight, it is more for support and holding ourselves accountable by posting weight loss/gain/maint etc. Hope this helps...0

WOW! EVERYONE!! great response!
Rules for the newbies: weigh-ins are anytime on Mondays. Every Monday. You will say how much of a percentage of your body weight you lost that week, and the challenge is until February 1st.
For example: say it was next monday and I lost 3 pounds.. I am at 164 so I would have lost .01829% of my body weight for that week. The next week you will still base your percentage on your base weight, which is what you started at this week.
I will post the runnings next Tuesday to let everyone know who is winning & not, etc.
