Good news, bad news

I got home this morning after three weeks of traveling. I didn't get to exercise as much as usual en route, but I did try hard to stay on track eating well. It meant that I was often passing up tasty-looking morsels, but I felt a whole lot better than I usually do when attending conferences. (I took a number of my own little Indian food packets, my own morning muesli, and I bought the yogurt I needed.)
When I got on the scale this morning, I was surprised to find that I'd lost three pounds. Usually I'm a little heavier when I come back from a trip. But the real news was that when I started to do my usual clothing inventory for the new school year, just two pairs of pants fit. One was a pair I'd ordered too small by mistake and hadn't ever sent back, and the other I just bought yesterday as I went through Woodburn's Gap outlet. Everything else is so big that even belting it is not going to work. It's a bit hard to believe. I think I'm the smallest I have been in my adult life, if I don't count the years I rowed light-weight in college (don't ever let a kid do that if she's over 5'7", by the way. It created huge eating issues for me that only this site has been able to overcome).
So now I have two pairs of pants and no money. I will try checking for sales and looking through the thrift stores, but I don't have much time either. I guess I'll be wearing a lot of skirts or something similar. Maybe I'll learn how to tailor? I really liked my wardrobe, and it's a bit of a pain to need to re-create it.

Good for you Its pretty funny that my underwear is too big... I had to breakdown and buy a pkg of new ones also when I did the wash the other day I threw away a pair of pants that were way too big and I was still wearing them after i got them outta of dryer I just said screw it Im not wearing them anymore. I bought 2 pair of pants to get me over the next weight goal. Good Job Its fun to go shopping with fall coming they have some good clearance racks especially for Plus sizes like my self... Never thought of goinf to thrift shop to get more to tide me over thanks for the idea//Good luck to you and Happy traveling Be Safe Kathy0

Check out eBay and bonanza.com for cheap clothes & Walmart for jeans. Plenty of places are having their end of summer sales, take advantage! Otherwise, thrift is good.0

My sister and I are both doing this together. We were just having the discussion the other day that it seems more frustrating when you put something on and it is too BIG!! I was frustrated when things were too TIGHT, but this is almost worse!! I also hate the fact that I have had to buy new dress pants (size 12 in May-June and size 10 in July). I know that this should make me feel great, but it isn't on my budget, thats for sure!! Anyhow, awesome job on your weight loss journey so far!!0

That's awesome! I find it really hard to stay the course when travelling. And yes skirts are usually good (especially for shorties like me because you generally don't need to shorten them). Congrats!0

Awesome - weight loss while away from home and needing a smaller size! Good problem to have; hope you can find some sales! Maybe try some resale shops too for lower prices?0

Re: the tailoring
Do you have a friend that could do it? Could you barter some of your skills for this?
Congrats on not letting the conference de-rail you, that is HUGE! :drinker:0
