Calorie cout help?

My husband, trying to be nice , bought me a pre-packed salad from Kroger. It was the Sante Fe chicken. I was not about to eat a salad with 220 calories and 16 grams of FAT :noway: So I mixed everything together added a few more carrot shreds and left the tomatos off (they looked like they were in some oily sauce.) I then used a light italian dressing. Just wondering if these numbers look right? Could the dressing they added really add THAT much more fat and calories? I just don't want my numbers to be off, thanks for any thoughts.

  • Salad dressing can have a ton of calories in it. It is the unhealthy portion of the salad. That's why when some people go on a diet and eat a lot of salads end up not losing weight because they use way too much salad dressing! Hope that helps!

It always amazes me when I start totalling up my calorie intake. Little things like cheese, dressing and the milk I put in my coffee make my calorie count soar. No wonder I packed on twenty pounds in a year. A little bit of salsa in place of your dressing would have tasted great and kept the calories down.

I googled salad dressing, and I don't know which one came with the salad, but I know it was creamy. Most of the creamy styles I see are so high is cals and fat. I think it was from the dressing. Must go to the store to stock up on my light zesty dressing, I really like it and very low in calories

This is only day 2 of me being back on my "eatting right again" goal, I'll admit I can already see how much the things I was eatting were effecting me. But, I also am not drinking any booze and changed what I eat almost over night  I've never smoked, but take away my wine AND eat light at the same time, I feel like the people who have described quiting smoking

Darned tootin' the salad dressing can inflate the fat and calories in a salad. The difference in the calorie counts doesn't surprise me at all :)
