Do you play pool?!!

If you do, dear Lord, please HELP ME!!! haha. Okay, so I'm playing pool tomorrow with someone who's really good and I want to impress him..heh.. The problem is I'm not good at pool. At all. I'm left-handed, maybe that's why?

Anywho, if you can give me ANY tips so I can at least hold my own, please do so!

Thanks in advance. :)

If you want to impress someone, the best way is to be honest. Nothing anyone can tell you on a message board will give you the ability to fool, let alone impress, someone who plays well... so turn the situation into an opportunity and ask HIM for some tips... which provides all sorts of opening for you to flirt as he guides your hands into the right position on the cue, etc...

I'm flattered-ish... How did things go with the pool shark?

My strategy for playing pool is to pray that my opponent sinks the 8 ball and I win by default. It's my only hope.

I was playing with a buddy a few weeks ago at a bar. I racked, he broke but didn't sink any. I thought he knew how to play so I dropped four. When I saw the look on his face, I deliberately backed off. It was too loud and too many people around to give him pointers and I didn't want to embarrass him by wiping the table.

The pool tables at bars tend to have easy pockets as that makes it easier to play, less precision required, making for faster games. If you've played on a regular table, a bar table makes you look better.

There is no trick to pool; it's all about physics and practice.
