I am a typical apple shape and I do squats, lunges and boxing as cardio to try and get the fat off my bum...if I do too many squats ect will my bum fat go..or will it just get bigger? I also do 45 minutes of cardio four times a week. I,m just worried about making my bum bigger!

Squats and lunges will really firm your butt and make it look much less flabby.

Only food will make you look fatter :) Squats and lunges will make everything tighter and awesome. Sounds like you have a good workout regime!

Thanks guys...I only joined this place a few days ago and have found it to be really good and the advice is brilliant, thank you all so much! I,ve been using MFP since may 2012.
I just wanted to know that by doing squats ect that I wasn't,t going to end up with a bigger bum, just a more toned one. I,m eating 1200 cals a day and exercising lots, I just want to look toned.

That reminds me... I need to do more squats myself.

Lately, I have to admit that I have been focusing too much on doing Zumba..

Be careful. The guy on the left only does 10 squats a day. The guy on the right does 11 squats a day.

Only kidding. Do squats. You will look awesome.

As I understand it, if you build muscle, it will help with fat burning (not a great amount but every little helps) and your diet plus CV work will slowly but surely remove the fat from your body thus leaving you lean and defined. It's a long, slow road upon which many travellers trip and fall.

    As for weights, generally:
