Anyone know one? I just tried one and it put me at 18.2% which I know is wrong as it would put me in the 'lean' category but my thigh measurement was 30mm!

My understanding is that there isn't one. I've tried a bunch of free ones, and my percentage can be over 10% different. The issue is that we all carry fat differently. Your best bet for a reasonable reading is to use calipers.

Back of arm, stomach, thigh measurement (with calipers) age, weight, sex. It put my bf at 2% so I know it's not just me :/

This is what I used, and it seems pretty accurate!

The is a good one. It was only about a percent off from when my friend did the bod pod.

Here you go -- I think that Navy's calculation is the most accurate out of the 3 they give you.

the military method tells me about what my body fat % measuring scale tells me. none of the other measuring methods i've tried have given me consistent results.

i like the calculators on this site:

DId you go to fat2fitradio.com? They have very good tools that will help you figure this out. Just remember that they are "ballpark". Once you pick one record your results and follow where you go using the same method. The trend is more important than the method. They also have tool for BMR/TDEE as well.
  • Calipers are kind of hard to get consistent readings on. There are some pretty accurate scales but the problem is you have to make sure your body water % is the same every time or the body fat reading could be off by a lot.

I've never had consistent results with anything. The last time I checked was with a body fat scale and the caliper method using the suprailiac skin fold and they both came up with 23% but that was the first time I had consistent results with anything. the problem is that I have very little abdominal fat, I carry my fat in my hips. I may try the Navy method...I have it saved to my favorites to take my measurements but since today is Day 2 of my monthly visitor I know better than to measure anything today! lol

I just tried the fat2fit site and it said my BF was 13.7%! When I use a caliper it says 22%... not sure which one to believe.

I use the boy fat clipers and use the above link and use the jackson/pollack method. I measure an area until i get 3 consistent readings. It may not be 100% accurate but if you do things consistently then you can watch the trends which is more important.

This is the one I use as well, using the Jackson-Pollock 3-site method. As psulemon does, I measure until I get 3 consistent readings.
