A Little Help?!

Hey guys!

I'm not exactly new to this site been using for about maybe a little over a month. Anywho, I'm writing to you guys because I not only need some support from all of you guys who have managed to drop those pounds but also some suggestions. Let me tell all you guys a little about my self first && my goals.

A couple of years ago while I was in high school I was very over weight! I was around probably 181 pounds, the summer before my senior year I managed to drop down to about 165. I continued doing good, even getting down to about 152 my first year of college. By the end of my first year I made it down to 138! However, my second year of college was a little more stressful for me. I ended up gaining about 12 pounds! getting up to 150. After college I got a job as a debt collector (And sat a lot!) I ended up getting back to 161. Now I have a different job where I'm much more active, I haven't had the guts to weight myself since I found out how much I weighed. Sooo It's been a couple of months, I'm not exactly sure how much I weigh. I think maybe around 165?

Anyways, I've been really considering joining the military (Navy) and of course they have guidelines on how much you should weigh according to your height. If I remember correctly It would be best for me to get around 145, thats a 16 lb I have to take off! However, I would feel much better if I could get down to around 138 where I was before so I don't need to worry about my weight and if I'm too fat once I enter into MEPS.

I also have a medium bone frame, so it dosen't look like I carry that much weight but I do! I was wondering what kind of routinesyou guys do? i.e. exercise, eating etc. I don't know what happend, but I lost my motivations! PLEASE HELP!!

    Good Luck Roxie,

I have a similar history of weight fluxuations, although I'm a lil older than you. Hopefully we can each get to our goals!

For strength training to prep for the military, I'd suggest Mark Lauren's You Are Your Own Gym. I've been doing his basic program for about a month and I've gotten quite a bit stronger and gained some muscle definition. I do his workouts on top of occasional cardio videos like Amy Dixon's Breathless Body series. I'm avoiding the gym because I want to see how much progress I can make just staying at home. So far, so good!

Food-wise, lots of people will disagree with me, I am sure, but I've found a lot of success using the ideas in Mark Sisson's Primal Blueprint. Good luck! Feel free to add me. :)
