Gym Newbie-Etiquette Tips Needed!

I have just started NROL4W and am really excited about the challenge of "Lifting Like a Man and Looking Like a Goddess". The problem I have is that I am a total newbie to the gym world.
Looking for specific do's and don't's so I don't look like an a**hat when I am working out.
For example: Used the squat rack for the first time today and I had zero clue of how the thing worked. I asked a man before he was on a machine if he could show me....he was super nice and showed me how to use the rack but it got me thinking about gym do's and don't's.
Tips appreciated!

Lay off the purfume, don't hog machines or weights, wipe down things after use, keep your shoes on and don't stare in the locker room. Welcome to the gym world!0

Yay for lifting!! Here are some things I think are polite/helpful in the weight world:
--Have a plan when you come in, so you can do your sets and then free up the machine for the next person. This'll save time, too.
--Don't sit in a machine for 5 minutes between sets. This is really annoying. I once waited around while someone took almost 25 minutes to do 3 sets on the leg press!
--Wipe down the bench after you use it (I, personally, don't care about this as much, but some people are germophobic, so do it anyway)
--Put your free weights away ("re-rack" them) after you're done with them.
I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head :-)
Happy lifting! Oh, and if you're short like me, just be grateful, smile and say thank-you when a tall guy helps you put the W bar on the tricep pull-down cable... LOL!!0 -
I think the two biggest are re-rack free weights and break down weights on the bars when you're done using them. On certain machines, you should reset them to their original position to allow people to walk in between them. For example, the fly/reverse fly machine should be put into the reverse fly position so it isn't taking up more space in the gym than it needs to.
Basically, do your exercise and set everything back to the way it was when you arrived at that area.0
