Calcium Measurement Question

My doctor told me to try to get 1200mg-1600 mg of calcium in my diet (not from supplements). Since MyFitnessPal tells me what my calcium intake is in % of a daily goal (which I assume is based on my calorie goal?), how can I know if I'm reaching the 1200-1600 mg level my doctor wants me to? Preferably without having to keep a seperate log of just that information.

Thanks in advance for you help!

  • The MyFitnessPal calcium goal is the same for everyone, since it's listed under "Tracked as Percentage of Daily Value (%DV) - based on a 2,000 calorie diet (per standard US food labeling) " in the 'Help' section.

The fda.gov website says that "100% DV = 1,000mg calcium." So since your doctor says between 1,200 and 1,600 mg each day, you'll want your daily calcium intake here on MFP to be between 120% and 160%. :)
