I was just wondering how others handle not being able to sleep at night and what do they do with their meal plans etc.
Please respond.
Thanks.

And if you do eat what meal do you log it under???0

I am in the process of changing my meals and giving them certain times. I label late night eating under Snacks though. I've been trying not to eat a snack during the day so that I will only have one at night.0

I stay up late nowadays and I tend to snack. I won't pig out though, I'll just have a bottle of water and a fruit! That should keep you satisfied for a few hours.0

I just consider it a part of my day and if I am awake and working I should eat. It's around 4 now. I will maybe fall asleep by 5 or 6. Then I might not. Pretty often I will be awake for 24 or 36 hours and then I'll crash for 12. It all nets out in the end, I think.0

eat dinner later or break it into 2 meals.0

I log it under dessert and try to have some peppermint tea first, but if that doesn't work for me something low carbish, with good protein. Cheese string, boiled eggs, turkey breast slices, yogurt or cottage cheese, natural almond butter on celery, veggies and hummus. Not saying that you neccessarily have to chose lc, that's just what I do.0

I tend to drink a lot of water, and I usually have veggies cut up in the fridge, so if I do get the urge to eat I grab those. If I've already completed my log for the day, I'll add the foods to the following day under "snacks". If I haven't logged my day, then I add it to that one.......0

to avoid late night eating I spend too much time on mfp following up with my friends!! lol Or, I knit and watch tv. I have to have my hands physically busy or else they want to put things in my mouth.0

Try substituting late night eating with drinking water or having a green tea.
Or masturbating.0 -
Thank you all for your input. I've struggled with that for awhile now.

Last night's late snack (at 11:30pm or so) was a Bartlett pear sliced, sprinkled with ginger and cinnamon and a glass of wine. I have 3 snack categories so that I can add in my snacks whenever the urge strikes. Even if I'm just having a cup of coffee or tea, I log it into my snacks.0

I was just talking about how I can never sleep and so thankful that eating at night is not an issue for me. Suffer from GERD and that will clear that issue up real quick. I wish I had an easy answer for you. Maybe put a lock on the fridge? Lexi struggles with this one too.0
