Just stepped on the scale for the first time in a few months

OMG, I just stepped on the scale for the first time in a few months. I have been avoiding them because of my many failed attempts to eat healthy and lose weight. I am now at the number that I always said if I ever got to I would die...
I don't know what to do. I love junk food and I can't stop eating it. I have tried to lose over a million times and I always give up on my first craving.

I was like that for a long time and then on my 21st birthday, I asked my husband for Alli (which is expensive, but FDA approved, safe and effective) and he got it for me. I read all the crap that came with it, emptied out my pantry, went to the grocery store to replace it with healthy things and started religiously counting calories. I didn't even start exercising until 4 or 5 months later and by that time I had already dropped 50lbs. You've just gotta make a commitment, clean out your kitchen and stick to that **** no matter what. You'll be SOOO happy you did.
EDIT: but yeah Alli helped get my diet the jump start that it needed, so maybe it would work for you also. You might try looking into it. i think the fact that I was taking an expensive medication that I didn't want to waste may have been part of the reason I was so diligent, but they say for every 2lbs of weight you lose on your own from dieting, Alli helps you lose 1 more.0 -
Hello!
It does seem so hard in the beginning doesn't it. You feel you've got so far to go! I don't know about medication but I agree with what the last person said . Give all your food away , or bin it, and fill your cupboards with healthy stuff so there are no temptations. Also; look up receips for foods similar to those you will miss (for a while, until you start to see results, then you'll be more motivated). Healthy homemade burger and chips, chicken in spicy coatings etc; you can get right into the home cooking and never look back! Best of luck. Today's the day you start your journey..........................................0 -

I recently had the same experience. I had been avoiding the scale for months and hoped on last week and I haven't weighed this much in 4 years! The first few weeks are always the hardest. Once you have a good routine in place it gets easier and the cravings will reduce! I swear for the first few weeks I could hurt somebody for a cookie lol. But if I persists in a few weeks I don't even crave the sweets anymore. Good luck!0

I think we have all felt what you are feeling--That is why there are so many people logged into myfitnesspal! Try to realize it won't happen in one day, but it will happen. I am so mad at myself for getting to be 30 pounds heavier today than I was when I got married. But it isn't the 30 pounds, it is that I have allowed it to stay and stay and stay.... I lost a few pounds, but the work is hard and I don't try hard enough!
What helped me to get more serious: 1- reading all these posts 2- logging in my food and being honest 3- I read a book on cancer and food etc. the one point I grabbed onto, when we STOP gaining weight, we lessen the chances of getting cancer. So, I knew I could STOP gaining weight.
Now I log and look at my food choices. I would like to be able to say I keep losing, but I don't (yet), but I am making better and better choices for my health!
Good luck and just keep reading instead of eating!0
