I basically binge 3 times a week now. I always feel full, sick, and it makes my stomach hurt, I feel crappy. and yet I keep doing it?
why? I'm so frustrated and discouraged. I want to fight this but have no idea what to do. My parents won't stop buying junk so I need to learn self control on my own again. It's always triggered when I'm bored and all I ever think about is food! even when I'm already full!

  • Hey! I used to binge everyday about eh two months ago now I believe. I would come home from school and eat till I was sick!
I have always had problems with binge eating since middle school. If I was unhappy, nervous, or stressed I would eat until I was almost sick. I would eat lunch and sometimes even buy stuff at the snack line on top of my lunch. I was eating almost a 1000 calories at lunch alone. After my binge at school I would come home and eat again most of the time till I was physically sick. I had a sickness. I was unhappy with myself, my life and overall everything. I hated school and my family all because I really hated myself. That was freshman, sophomore year.
I moved to a new school the summer of my junior year. I was nervous and afraid I would have a hard time making friends. Luckily I lost access to the vending machine and I stopped buying stuff all together. I was great for awhile, I made friends and I was having the time of my life. But my insecurities came back and I started to binge everyday when I came home. I would eat ANYTHING I could get my hands on in a hour period.
Its now the summer of my senior year (I know Im young :)). About two weeks before junior year ended I came clean to my Mom about my out of control binge eating. I told her how I felt and right now she supports me all the way. Its been two months since I have binged on food. I have lost five pounds and I feel powerful. School is starting soon and I'm really going to try my hardest not to let the anxiety and stress make me binge again.
This is my success story saying that I have not binged in two months and I'm planning on never doing it again. I know my binge episodes are the reason I gained so much weight and I don't want to go back to square one.
Thanks for reading and I just wanted to say you came overcome anything that you set your mind to♥

That was my success story i posted a couple weeks ago. The advice I could give you is believe in yourself and have someone back you up. If you ever want to talk you can add me as a friend and message me when you want to binge! Maybe having me there to talk to can talk you out of a binge?

    Why indeed?
Write here or in a private journal why you think you keep doing this. For every excuse you write, ask yourself again: why?
At the same time, know that willpower requires practice. There are some excellent books on this subject--you're not some awful human being for not being able to resist, but if you really want to change you will have to work at it.

Yeah, I'd definitely get a journal. Also, start exercising your "no" muscle. You can't let yourself do something if you put your foot down. I used to binge when I was unhappy or stressed a year back, or I'd go to burger king and eat until I was full when my husband and I would have an argument. You need to listen to the reason why you want to binge, and deal with it in a healthier way. Perhaps going for a walk every time you feel the need so you can clear your head, think things through. Eating when we aren't hungry is only a temporary fix. When we're stuffed and full, the issue is still there, and we go from feeling good to horrible. Exercise that NO muscle! I used to also binge because it was an easy way to self medicate myself or harm myself. I knew it was bad, but did it anyway because I wanted to feel bad afterward sometimes. I had to stop hating myself for things I couldn't control, and learn to love myself and body instead.
