so, i started my new diet aug 1st, started at 187 lbs, my calorie goal daily is 1200, or around, i am mostly seated but i do work out 6 days a week, at a loss of about 600 calories a day, it says on here i should loose weight if i stay under 1950 calories, my deficit is around 700- diet 600- cardio (1300 a day)to (1000 a day) in the mid of this week i had lost 3 lbs but today a bit upset it says i now have gained that 3 lbs back plus 1 lb more gahhhh. i have been in this boat before and it is why i quit, i dieted/did cardio for 3 months and had only lost 7 lbs to only gain it back. pls any suggestions or tips, ohh also im not under eating, at 1200 or so calories a day i feel great, no cravings or feelings i need to eat. but i did notice before i started cardio i was only eatng around 1500 calories which is still a 400 calories def, and still not loosing any weight could my calorie need rly be this far off? im 5, 5 188 lbs mostly seated but i do do , 4 hrs of hard cleaning( work ) a day ( calorie counter say i loose about 856 cals day but i under est at 600)

You might be undereating for your body if it says you would be losing weight at 1950 calories. That said, you are only 6 days into your new diet. Could just be fluctuations due to water weight, I wouldn't stress over it at all. You also say that you are mostly seated for the day, but that you do 4 hours of hard cleaning a day for work. Do you have your activity level set at Sedentary or Lightly Active? I believe that with that kind of work you would be considered Lightly Active. Don't give up yet!
  • I would stop weighing in so much. I have heard that your body can vary by 5 pounds on any given day so I wouldn't worry so much about the weight it says you have gained. I would only weigh in every couple of weeks if I were you. Also, you may want to invest in a heart rate monitor so you will know exactly how many calories you are burning. They are expensive but worth it so you can know for sure instead of estimating. Lastly, keep in mind you did not gain the weight in a few weeks so you will not lose it in a few weeks. Be dedicated and it will happen I promise...good luck

the only way out of a rutt is to find something you love doing. i did a lot of exercises on a Wii thing for a while with a friend and it was a blast. It got me started on the whole getting back in shape thing.
