Total loss of motivation...

I was doing very well for a long time! I had gotten down from 250lbs to 197. But over the last week and a half I have gained 10lbs, and thanks to work (active duty military) on top of being a full time college student, I never get to run anymore. I've lost total motivation and really need an "up and at 'em speech" or some motivation of any sort. Help me out guys?

Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery... Now remember what you are fighting for and why you started this in the first place... if you can't find time to run find time for other things, other exercises, find time to focus on what you're eating. and remember you have a community here that is in full support of you!!!0

If you fail your PT test you won't be active duty for long ...does that help motivate? Haha
Do you get PT time in your workday? Have squadron PT? Talk with your supervisor and ask if you can incorporate an extra 30 minutes into your lunch/beginning/end of your duty day to go to the gym.0 -
We do "command PT", but it's normally pretty weak. 50 pushups and a 3 mile run followed by stretching. I miss the old days when we I could go lift super heavy for an hour instead of command PT, then get home at a decent enough hour to go for my 3-6 mile runs 4 or 5 times a week. Now I'm hopping in my car so I can get to the gym for 20 minutes during lunch, bang out some pullups, pushups, and push presses, then spring back to work in uniform. A few times a week at best. You obviously understand a bit, so let me tell you the workout killer: INSURV...on a small craft that hasn't had it since it was made FORTY years ago...0

You would have to have been eating an awful amount of food to gain 10Ibs of genuine weight in that short a time...0

I was eating INCREDIBLY healthy, so it's got me a bit worried, but the doctor said I'm fine, just can't explain the sudden weight gain.0

Ahh yeah I see. Well maybe see if you can find some buddies to go lift with. My husband goes with a few guys after work each day or sometimes during lunch.
Maybe the weight gain is muscle? With the workout you are doing that could be possible0 -
Make a list of every reason you want to lose weight, from major things to small things. Read that list over and over. Good luck!!0

Military PT sessions are meant to sustain, not improve. If you're finding that PT sessions aren't challenging enough, then you're going to have to make time to do your own program.
If it's important to you, you'll find a way to make it happen. If it's not important to you, then you'll find an excuse.0
