Hello,
I am going in my second month of pregnancy and I need to find exercises that are suitable for pregnancy. If you are pregnant or was pregnant and worked out, what exercises did you do? I am used to doing high impact exercises, which I know I am not supposed to do now, so I need some alternatives. This is my second child and I didn't exercises during my first pregnancy because I was too sick and I also did not gain any weight because I couldn't keep my food down. This pregnancy I am not sick and I am able to keep my food down, so I don't want to gain any weight if I can help it. Please give me some exercise tips and ideas!!!

My doctor said I could do anything I did before I was pg as long as I made sure I didn't get over heated. I ran up till the last week of my pg, although slowly towards the end. Talk to your doctor and get their advice. You general health might factor in his/her thoughts. Good luck and stay healthy for two!
ETA: Except play soccer after my 1st trimester. I quit playing soccer after my 3rd month of pg with the last two kids. The worry was obviously a ball or kick to the belly.0 -
I hope you're not trying to avoid weight gain during pregnancy. Unless you meant beyond the ~20 pounds of baby and related fluids (blood, amniotic fluid, breast tissue, and the like) that women normally gain while pregnant. Have you considered swimming? Low-impact, but it burns calories like a mofo. Definitely talk to your doctor, though, before you do anything.0

I was told it was okay to continue exercising during pregnancy. I did cardio (stationary bike) and weight lifting. I didn't push myself hard, and I ended up having to stop due to some complications (not caused by exercise). I was aiming for 20-25 lbs gained, and I ended up gaining 30 but I still lost it easily.
Talk to your OB about what a healthy amount of gain is for you. If your weight is normal now, you want to gain at least 20 pounds during pregnancy, and the conventional recommendation is 25-35 pounds. If you're overweight, the recommendation is 15 pounds. It's not safe to try not to gain any weight at all.0 -
Thank you everyone for your comments. I will be meeting with the doctor this week to see what she says!0
