So the ladies may be able to appreciate this..... Went shopping at good.will today for some inexpensive clothes to wear now or in the future. I'm a size 16 right now. Found this gorgeous teal-blue dress from Kay Unger with pretty detailing...

Went online after because I thought gosh this is such a pretty dress, I wonder what I saved off retail? Turns out a LOT

Original Price: $438
Used Price: $195

Sold at Thrift Store: $6.75 plus tax

Woohoo!!! Its a size 10 so its my approximate Goal Weight Dress (I'm 5"8.5)

Here's it selling on ebay:

*Its nice to sometimes find GOOD stuff at thrift stores that slip under the radar, and aren't way marked up just because they are a brand!!!*

I realize this may ormay not have been better in the success stories section... but I am super de duper happy about it! I love finding things at steep discounts at just the right time or something that I just love - like this dress. Gives me a rush and so fun lol:)

    lol

Usually I try to keep these a secret... don't want the thrift stores onto me!!! I always think they will realize I actually got a good (sometimes incredible) deal and then start marking everything up.

And they do sometimes, and I stop shopping cause its a THRIFT store!!! We should be able to buy non-crappy items (great items!) at a thrift store. I think sometimes thrift stores forget that this is what it is about... buying nice *second hand, sometimes slightly damaged* stuff at a steep discount.

Glad to see lots more bargain hunters out there and that I am not the only one who gets giddy lol!!!

I <3 tjmaxx and marshalls too .... and yay for clearance!!

just curious how you know a size 10 will be around 145lbs?

because im 5'8 and my aim is a size 10 aswell and i have no clue what i should be aiming for weight wise
ive put my goal weight as 126lbs but yours says 145lbs so i sorta feel like ive over estimated the weight im gona be as a size 10 by loooads!

which if your right is good news for me :D cause i have less weight to lose then.. not much less but yeah

was just wondering if yours was just a guess or what?

    thanks. :)

It fits under the motivating catagory. You should hang that on you closet door for inspiration.

If it helps the above poster. I have been trying to guess what weight goes with what size, but I remember that when I was 145 I was a size 12, but I have a stocky irish build and am only 5'3.5".

I am a cross between pear and hourglass I think

I know somewhere AROUND 150 I was wearing 8s and 10's for jeans. I might have even weighed 155 or so. I would like to be anywhere from 130-155 depending on how I look.

here is a girl at 5"8 size 6, 145 lbs:

I had a tiny tummy even at size 10, and 8, so I know that I will definitely at least make size 10 my goal hopefully 8 or 6! But realisitically for life... it will probably be around an 8. We'll see. I'm also keeping track of my size/measurements every ten pounds lost, so that will help in the future so I can know exactly what size I'll be at what weight.

I agree about the motivating, just I haven't accomplished this size so I didn't want to bump "true" success stories out of the way.

I consider myself the thrifting diva. I love it so much! I don't even pay regular price for clothes anymore. I can't bring myself to do it! But I will spend good money on some shoes, lol!
