Need advice

I am having a lot of trouble staying focused on the weekends. This past weekend, I went to a wedding and also a company party and really blew it food wise at both. I exercised both days but I don't know where my motivation is. It seems to have disappeared the last two months. I get remotivated, stay on track, but then for some reason or another, I just don't stay focused.
I wanted to get some advice to see what keeps you motivated to do this? I have about 10 more pounds to lose, so I know, not a lot but still, I want to lose it.
I always have events on the weekends and I tend to blow it. My friend that is on the program, she was fine at the party but why wasn't I? Also, it didn't help that I had some cocktails in me prior to eating...
Anyway, any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated as I really do want to do this!

Can you eat before the event so that you're not hungry once you arrive. I know sometimes we eat from the temptation, rather than actual hunger, but maybe it would help.0

I always eat a healthy snack before going to functions. I limit myself to 1 round of the buffet if there is one. I also switched my cocktails to vodka + soda water + 2 lime/lemon wedges which is a better alternative if I'm in a setting which requires a drink in hand (only 70 cal per ounce of vodka, standard pour is 1 ounce).0

Where I work we often have food brought in the building by advertisers. There's so much temptation. Last week we had a local wing and rib place and Olive Garden bring in lunch on the same day. I made myself count the calories and it was ugly about 1200 calories on lunch. My daily calorie goal is 1500. But - and I give myself some space for this, I didn't pig out like I used to. I ate what I ate then I stopped had some water talked to colleagues and stopped eating. I didn't have dessert. Icecream cake and cookies then i had an extra work out that day try to find a balance for yourself and maybe just one indulgence day a week0

If possible, when I got to some event, I try to take my own bottle of water, or even get one first thing when I get there. I find that I feel more comfortable having something in my hand while walking around. If I'm aleady holding something then I wont be able to grab a snack thats laying around.0

I have the same problems staying focused on my food goals on the weekends. One thing I am 'trying' to do better is to plan ahead....so as people have said, eat before your function.....Also w/ the 'freedom' of the weekend your thoughts for staying on track might be taking a hike.....try to schedule your weekend and see....I know I did well this past weekend but got crazy and didn't eat enough food and didn't drink my water....it's almost like I need a bell to ding to tell me to stop the busyness and eat or drink.....0
