I've lost about 16lbs doing exercise and dieting. But now i've gotten stuck at 143lbs. I've been here the past two months, can't get past it. I'm eating 1200cal a day, dont want to go below it. Trying to exercise as much as I can, but I have a busy schedule since i'm a nurse. Any tips on how to push through this plateau? My goal weight is 130 or 135. Any suggestions?

I am at the exact same place as you! My goals are the same as well and I know what you mean about schedules keeping you from exercise! I'd love to be your friend... we need to support each other with this!!!0

Change you workout, your body is use to your work out and so it's time to change it up. Also look at your diet and see where you can change it up or eat more smaller meals in order to get the metabolism up. Just a few suggestions and good luck to both of you.:glasses:0

I have read a short fast period may help 12hrs, but there are variations on this. For example don't eat after3pm on a Sunday till the next day period breakfast, I have experimented with this but feel I will just end up wanting to eat the additional calories the following day, Also you could try adjusting something in your diet such as your carbohydrate intake. Try some change to your workout routine, you body can get used to if you doing the same workout consistently. Everyones different --trial and error!!0

I found this article posted on MFP a while back...it helped me break my 6 month plateau. I had to cut my cardio down slightly and up my calories by about 150. The answer may differ for you, you just having to tweak until you figure it out.
Good luck. http://fitnesswithnatalie.blogspot.com/2011/05/most-dreaded-word-in-weight-loss.html0 -
Try to increase your calorie intake.0

increase you calories by 10 percent be there for 2 weeks,if the weight doesnt budge you can still increase it upto another 10%-so 1320 for 2-3 weeks if the scale doesnt budge and 1450 for 2 weeks. You are more likely to see a change.0

Thanks for all the advice! I'll try bumping up my calories. And eating 800 cal is very unsafe, the minimum anyone should eat is 1020.....0

I think it’s time you took your workout up a notch. An effective weight loss plan (http://www.dukandiet.com/The-Dukan-Diet) includes healthy eating and exercise. But there DOES come a point in your weight loss journey when your body becomes complacent to your workout routine and that might slow down your weight loss. I’d advise you to continue eating as you are but just maybe increase the intensity of your workout a bit.0
