Yep. Found out yesterday. A friend told me, "HA! You are going to be a GILF."

Um.....NOOOOOOOO. I may be a cougar but that's really pushing it.

I said the same thing. I will be 43 when the baby is born.
It happens when you have kids young. I was 19 with my first and 22 with my 2nd.
Guess I should break out the crochet hook and yarn and make an afghan and booties now.

I'm hoping it's going to be a boy. I know tonka trucks and mud fights. I don't know how to play tea party and dress up. That's what happens when you grow up in a family full of men.

You are a girl who doesn't know typical "girly" stuff. So of all people you should know that girls don't have to do that stuff. Why have such a limiting attitude?

So true. My mom is significantly older than you are and she's not a grandma yet.

My uncle and aunt were both over 60 when they became grandparents.

    Congrats though!

Not exactly sure because I have not seen research, but I think that kids born to younger parents tend to have their own kids earlier in life.

I was a Grandma at 45, but my Mum was over 40 when she had me, I was the child of older parents and I did not wish that on my own Children, I had my first at 21, and she was 24 when she became a Mum, so not SO young, and it means I get to be an active involved Grandma, as I never even knew any of my Grandparents, and my parents are not around to meet their Great Grandchild, which I have more than a shot at

Congrats! My parents became grandparents at 40 and 45.. It's the best!! They are still super active and can do all kinds of fun stuff with my son. They practically beg me to have him once or twice a week... Enjoy it while you are young!

I loved becoming a Grandmom. What a difference I found between being a mom and then a Grandmom. I think I have a lot more time to cherish the moments now:smile: then I did when I was raising my own. Congratulations!

    Thank you everyone.
As a teen, I was a bit wild but I carried birth control with me. I missed one stinking pill and BANG....pregnant at 19. I taught my sons about birth control when they were about 14. I know they carried condoms with them because I would buy them and put them in their bathroom without telling them. But...then my son's gf missed one pill....and BANG....pregnant at 19. My son and his gf are the same ages my husband and I were when I got pregnant with my first baby. I agree it can run in families of having kids early. My mother was 17 when she got pregnant the first time. My aunt was 16. My cousin was 18. And my brother became a father at 18. I was just hoping it wouldn't happen to my sons til after I was 50 but I am still excited. Got my yarn yesterday and an afghan pattern. Starting it this weekend.
