Morining workout alarm

So I have been thinking that I want to get up in the mornings to start running. Only thing is my hubby has to leave the house by 5:00am and I have two children at the house (7 and 3). I'm thinking to get in a decent run I would want to get up at about 4:00am. That just seems soooo early to me!
I was just curious about what time all of you morning people get up and hopefully get some advice on how you do it, Lol! Do you eat before your workout or after? I have never been a morning person but I do love the feel of being outside in the early morning. Any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated!
Okay... the title is supposed to say Morning not Morining... I think I need some more coffee, Lol!

I have NEVER been a morning person and NEVER thought i would get up in the moring to workout. But now i get up at 4am to go to the gym. Honestly, i just get up and go. I try not to think about how early it is and i try not to think about how good it would feel to roll over and go back to sleep... I don't eat anything, but i do a pre-workout mix and I drink an intra-workout mix as well to help fuel me.0

Being in Phoenix, I always try get out the door before sunrise, usually around 5:15 to 5:30am. Because of work, this works out best for me. I never eat anything beforehand. Personally, I have trouble sleeping past 6am on any given day. I would definitely be careful about what you eat the night before; no huge meals or anything that will upset your stomach during the night. Other than that, just try to get to bed earlier. It will take a while to adjust, but I think you will enjoy it once it is a habit.0

I have never been a morning person either. I do get excited for doing couch to 5k and love watching the sunrise, and that gets me going in the morning. I wake up around 5:15 to leave at 5:30. I don't like to eat anything before, but I do drink a glass of water. I just do a quick brush of my teeth or swish some mouthwash, toss my hair up, get dressed and go. Also I like to set out my workout clothes the night before and pack my running fanny pack so that everything is ready to go. If the jog doesn't jolt me awake, the cold shower when I get home sure does!0

From what i read, it is important to gym on an empty tummy because you burn fat that way. (what i read). I am also not a morning person, and i struggle to just wake up and go to work, but i think if you need to stick with something do it at a time when you are comfortable and you know you can stick with it.
Im in South Africa, I dont know about the rest of the world but there is no way one can run at 4 here, even gyms open at 5am. It is not only the early hours of the morning, it is dark and not safe. I started working out late in the evening, just before i go to bed. it works out for me and i can stick with it. I have a child so i cant do the morning workouts,, even if i wanted to.0 -

^^^This. I get up at 4 AM, too but it is easier for me since I am a morning person. I've have a 7 and 3 year old, too. For my husband's sake, I'm usually finished working out before the kids even wake up in the morning (except Sundays). You just get up and do it. If you think about it too much, you'll talk yourself back into bed.0 -

This makes me feel a bit better... now I know that I won't be the only one getting up in the wee hours of the morning!0 -

I almost always "talk myself back into bed". I think I'm going to try putting my alarm across the room with my workout clothes right there. Once I'm out of bed what's the point of getting back in?0 -

What time do you go to bed?
I will have to switch to 5am workouts when I go back to work in two weeks and I'm afraid I'll be falling asleep at 9pm.0
