Has anyone tried the Shangri-La diet?

Has anyone here tried the Shangri-La diet? It's not really a diet, but involves regularly drinking a tablespoon of extra light olive oil, to break your body's connection between taste and calories. It sounds crazy, but people in the Amazon reviews of the book seem to say it works, and it was designed by someone with extensive experience in qualitative analysis. Anyone with experience?

never heard of that, but i have heard that drinking a tablespoon of olive oil before bed helps lubricate the digestive tract so you dont store as much food as you sleep

I thought this would have something to do with peaches. Whoever thought this up is bad at naming things, it makes no sense!

last time I lost at spoof I had to drink half a cup of olive oil and eat a chilli. The chilli was fine but the olive oil sat on my stomach and had to be manually removed. there's a lesson there.

The people on Amazon said it worked so it must be the miracle cure! Honestly, I'd rather fry my chicken in it.
