Strength training at home - need help

Hey guys,

Here's a little background info. Back in my early 20s I lifted weights regularly in a gym with the help of a trainer. It was a no frills place and the owner trained me for free as part of my membership. I was overweight at the time, probably about the same size I am now. We lifted heavy and I put on a lot of muscle. My shoulders got too big for my suit jackets, etc. I got a little too bulky instead of just toning up. Since then, I've lifted on and off on my own, mostly on the circuit machines at gyms. I stopped lifting completely a few years ago when I started running instead. Foot surgeries and having a baby stopped my workouts - cardio and strength - completely. Since having my son, I've dropped about 30 lbs through diet alone.

Now my baby is 9 months old and I just started working out again. I no longer have a gym membership but I have a great treadmill for cardio, plus I'm walking/running outside. What's throwing me is the strength training component. I have at least 40 or so more pounds to lose and I would like to incorporate some sort of simple strength training that I could do at home. Because of the baby and my work schedule, I don't have a lot of time. I would like to stick to walking/running for my cardio and find a video, book, etc. with an easy to follow toning routine. Preferably, something I could do with minimal equipment or outlay of cash. Maybe bodyweight exercises?

Can anybody recommend a simple routine/dvd/book/plan, etc? Something I could do 2-3 times a week within about a 40 minute time period would be perfect. Thanks in advance.

If you can stand Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, No more trouble zones, Ripped in 30 are all solid workouts that only needs a couple of dumbells and a mat. Banish fat boos metabolism is only cardio, no equioment needed. There all between 30-50 minutes. Ive done them all and think they are solid.

New rules of weight lifting for women! Awesome and all you need are barbell, dumbbells, swiss ball and later on a chin up bar :)
