You know what sucks?

I'm not allergic to anything, but I would cry every day if I couldn't eta peanut butter or shell fish. Literally cry. I LOVE PB AND SEAFOOD. I have a friend that is allergic to wheat and corn....she can't have breads or beer. THAT WOULD SUCK!
Peanut butter rules! I still love it. Also, I appreciate your profile pic!0 -
That does suck, I have almonds and pecans on a daily basis.
Up until I was about 20 I couldn't eat more than a single square of chocolate without getting a brain-crushing headache. I'm so glad I ended up growing out of that...0 -
My question is why is so many people now allergic to peanuts? When I grew up I never knew ANYONE that was allergic and back then a PBJ sandwich was a staple in our neighborhood. Just wondering....

Another theory is the opposite scenario. Doctors tell preggo women to not eat peanuts because it might cause allergies, then there are a lot of babies born with allergies, then doctors tell MORE preggo women to not eat peanuts, and the cycle continues.
Meh - there's just not enough study done on this. It's a shame though - peanut butter can be a very healthy addition to kid's routine foods if they aren't allergic.
PS - Dixie - is that a TARDIS in your ticker? 'cause that's just awesome.0 -
For the record, I hate everyone talking about how much they love peanut butter with a passion right about now.0

Maybe you allergic folk could try sunbutter (sunflower seed)? It's not the same as PB but it can be pretty good if used properly! I like it on brown rice cakes or in oatmeal0

Life is beautiful and yet there are still so many people trying to make it ugly with their hate.0

thankfully, I'm not allergic to peanuts, because they're legumes, not real nuts like almonds or pecans, so I'm happy with my peanut butter! lol.0

Having Insulin Resistance and not being able to eat like a normal person who is trying to lose weight. No fruit, no grains, no fun
I was eating healthy and having a hard time losing weight even after dropping calories intake to under 1,500 and exercising 6 days a week for an hour a day so I went to the doc and found out that what I was eating was causing me more harm than good. SO SUCKS!!
May I ask, how did the docs discover you had Insulin Resistance? Did they have to do blood tests or something (excuse my naivety on this subject)?0
