Ekho Heart rate monitors...yes or no?

I have been looking for a heart rate monitor for the past couple of days to verify that my calories burned were correct on here, I found an Ekho E-10 on eBay that I am thinking about purchasing but I haven't seen any reviews on it. It looks like it would work, but I also want one that I can wear WITHOUT the chest band while I'm on vacation to see how many calories I burn just walking around sight seeing if I don't get the chance to regularly exercise. Anyone have any reasonably priced ideas? Help please!?

Any HRM that you get needs a chest strap for accuracy. They are also not meant to be worn all day.. only for exercise, which sight seeing is not.

I suggest you invest in a Bodymedia Fit or Fitbit.. Those seem more geared toward what you want to use it for.
  • Well I mainly want one for when I am exercising, which is why I want the Ekho! Should I be looking into a pedometer for the walking on vacation?

just consider sight seeing bonus exercise that u don't have to log, but you still know you did it... or just use walking calories to estimate it if your trying to be exact I guess. But I'd save the money spent on a pedometer to but something cute you see on your vacation while ur walking around!

A pedometer won't be accurate either because it does not take heart rate into consideration.

The best HRM brand is Polar... but as I said previously, they are meant for exercise only and not all day use.

Just enjoy the vacation and don't worry too much about calories.
  • I'll look into them! thanks :)
